My twin sons have been participating in OT with YourTrueSelf OT for over four years. Thanks to their kind and supportive therapists, the boys have been able to develop new athletic skills, such as rollerblading, and find a greater sense of peace and calm in nature. Their therapists have also helped with haircuts, dental visits, blood draws, a return to school after the pandemic, and every other challenging life situation. Our therapists, Luke and Shane, understand autism very well and bring out the best in the boys. We are very grateful!

I’ve had the pleasure of working as a colleague with Mike from Your True Self OT for several years. As an occupational therapist, he is exceptionally talented, thorough, passionate, and adaptable. Mike approaches his work with creativity and is dedicated to collaborating with each child, their families, and other therapists to gain a holistic understanding of the child. His unique therapeutic approach combines playfulness, curiosity, and connection to make activities more meaningful and effective.

We found ‘Your True Self’ in the early weeks of the pandemic. My son had been receiving OT for a sensory integration disorder at school and when school went online, it seemed it was not possible to get him services. I saw a YTS flyer. Posted on the fence of a local park, and I called. Shane and Mike arrived for the initial assessment visit, everyone masked, and there was an immediate click. They took my son outside to play and worked with him using play as the modality for their work. He loved it, and made more progress in those first months than he had made in several years of more traditional OT treatment. As important, Shane has worked with my son, over several years, in what I think of as a therapeutic relationship. He has supported him emotionally and socially with self-regulation skills, and thoughtful dialogue as well as attunement to his developing needs and interests. When his balance needed some help, Shane took him out on a paddle board and soon he was able to stand without falling, and even paddle. When he developed a passion for basketball, Shane took it as an opportunity to work on his eye-hand coordination along with strength and agility. The belief that children learn naturally through play with a supportive, skilled therapist who is there for them both physically and as a person is very important and successful. I cannot recommend this group highly enough! We are very grateful.

We are fortunate to have found Your True Self via a friend. When our daughter started, she was just getting used to being in the water. However, with the help of the amazing OTs, her independence and confidence has grown exponentially and now being in the water is one of her favorite activities.

As an OT student who did a full 3-month fieldwork with Your True Self, I learned SO MUCH. The whole team is super easy and accommodating to work with, and I love seeing their passion and true love for the work they do.
