Dr. Lara is a shining star in my book! I am so thankful for all she has done to get me up and running again! I retired to Colorado 2 years ago and took full advantage of all that this beautiful state has to offer. I ran every race possible, enjoyed many challenging hikes, worked out at Orange Theory Fitness multiple times a week, learned to Nordic ski and adopted a Golden Retriever, who needed multiple walks a day and plenty of time in the Doggie playground. Unfortunately, most of these activities came to a screeching halt 5 months ago, when I experienced severe pain in my glutes and the backs of my legs, making it impossible to enjoy all the activities that I loved so much. The pain was excruciating!!! I sought out several specialists, who were able to ease the pain temporarily, but it would just come back full force when my treatments concluded. One day, in a casual conversation with a running friend, I mentioned my health issues and she recommended Dr. Lara, who has turned out to be my “saving grace”! On my first visit, she took the time to get to know me personally, examined me and shared in detail why I was feeling so much pain. She showed me diagrams of the body, and took the time to show me what was causing my issue and then, we started treatment. After the first few appointments, I noticed considerable improvement and mobility and I started to run again soon after, with little or no discomfort. Now, I am back to running non stop. In fact, I ran a Half Marathon 3 weeks ago and a very challenging 10K Trail Race last weekend with no pain! Huge kudos to Dr. Lara for all her expertise, knowledge and kindness in getting me up and running again! Thank you!!!

After going through some local physical therapy for knee issues, I found Yellow Brick's Virtual PT Back and Hip program. A little skeptical at first about doing PT virtually and a back/hip program for knee issues, but from my first consultation with Lara I knew I was on the right path. Her approach to treating the root issue, not the symptom helped me to alleviate pain and regain mobility quickly. The virtual program also allowed me to work at a pace that integrated well with work and travel.

Lara is amazing! She is so knowledgeable and kind, an absolute joy to work with. Her techniques and expertise have helped me release a very tight and inflamed psoas that was wreaking havoc on my body. I’ve been able to return to running and I will continue to implement all I’ve learned from Lara. Thank you so much!!

Lara has been such a blessing to me! I have been dealing with low back pain for over a year now and sought treatment with Lara. She has really focused on my psoas on the front of my body. I have loved her gentle approach to healing and her online video classes that I can access easily between in person treatment. She is so knowledgeable and kind!

I'm a broken-down former athlete with chronic pain in my back and knees due to advanced osteoarthritis. I went to Lara to improve my poor posture and lessen the strain on my damaged joints. Her approach involved calming the nerves that energized specific muscles to balance me better and help ease my joint pain. She educated me on why her approach should help me. And it did. She gave me tools (exercises and advice) that I'm now using. Good stuff!! She can't heal your arthritis, but she'll stand you up straighter and get your body such that your offending joints don't hurt so much.

I was able to return to swimming after an 8 year break due to back pain. Swimming pain-free was beyond my hopes. Lara was the only person who correctly diagnosed my back issue and within a reasonable amount of time, had me running and living pain-free. Turns out, it wasn't really my back causing the pain all those years - it was my psoas muscle - which is on the front side of my body. I had been tolerating the pain for years and seen numerous other PTs. Lara is also a delightful person, who truly enjoys helping her clients. She provides the amount of care needed and is not trying to get you on a longer term plan than you need. She has the knowledge to correctly diagnose and treat effectively.

I originally went to Lara for help with some pain in my hip that had been reoccurring periodically throughout the last few years. She found that the pain was actually originating in my back stabilizing muscles. She is so good at teaching someone like me (who has zero anatomy or biology background) about what's happening to my body and why it's manifesting this way. She has such enthusiasm for teaching and helping people heal, and it makes working with her such a treat. The exercises she gives are easy to incorporate into your daily life, so there is no excuse not to do them. With Lara's help, I was able to successfully run a 50k without any pain in my back and I now have the tools to treat this pain if it pops up again!

Dr. Lara is terrific. She helped me work though a running injury in time to complete my goal race and I'm still feeling great a month later. Not only does Lara understand the physiology of injury but, as a runner herself, she was a tremendous resource in talking through the mental/emotional aspects. She's a true educator at heart which I found empowering for long-term injury prevention and wellness. Totally recommend.
