White Mountain Regional Medical Center- Emergency Room

By far the best hospital experience I’ve ever had. My toddler busted his lip open and needed stitches. Every person that helped us was incredible. Great bedside manner and tried to make the best out of the traumatic situation for my little guy. I am so grateful for everyone’s help and the level of care we received.

I’d give the Rehab 10 stars if I could. The staff here are amazing. Extremely knowledgeable and respectful. Want to give a special shout out to the CNA’s who took care of my Battle Buddy. Their kindness was exceptional. Thank you.

So, several of my family members have gone through the hospital, all with their stories. I'm only addressing the worst two here, as they are bad enough. One, was a fourteen year old girl who went to the ER. The PA sent her home, telling her to get some over the counter cream, but she ended up back at the hospital with her kidneys failing the next morning. They refused to believe her answers to questions, even having one of the doctors intentionally hurting her and demanding she "tell the truth," when she was telling the truth. Eventually they had a nurse come tell her that she had a disease that she did not have and lie, telling her that she would test negative for it, but still had it. Several doctors later, with doctors confused why she said she had a disease standard testing indicated she did NOT have, a doctor finally asked her questions. Unfortunately, the window for suing had closed. Next up, a young man in his early twenties had an ulcer. They admitted him for testing and the nurse administered the wrong medication at the dose for the correct medication, causing him quite a bit of agony and essentially poisoning him. He had to be rushed to Show Low because the hospital was not equipped for the emergency they created with giving the wrong IV. He survived and got an extra big bill for the pleasure of their care, not to mention the emergency transfer to the second hospital. No family remains in the area, but the family knew to avoid the hospital like the plague.

My daughter had a deep cut on her hand. Steve and Dr.Hopkins were efficient and professional. Highly recommend! Thank you to all the staff.

Excellent service. I was on vacation in the white mountains and became sick and it was an emergency. I was worried about going to a new hospital for my ongoing issues but had no choice. I had to go and I’m so glad I experienced this hospital staff. The staff was amazingly friendly nothing like the city folk I’m used to. The nurses were so helpful and nice and the doctor is amazing I wish I could bring him back to Phoenix so I could continue to see him for my medical problems. Thank you for keeping me safe and making me better quickly. I’ll never forget this wonderful experience with these wonderful people. If you’re in trouble and feeling nervous don’t be! Go to this hospital they will care for you so well.

Went to ER for evaluation this Monday because of fever, cough and extreme weakness. The entire experience was very positive and I cannot say enough good things about the staff and the treatment I received. Turns out I had developed pneumonia related to some type of virus infection and had low oxygen levels along with cough and fever. I've been treated at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix over the past years and have had exposure to the best of the best in Arizona medicine. However, I cannot be more pleased with the care, consideration and skill displayed by the doctors, nurses and staff at White Mountain Regional ER. They do amazing things with the resources they have. I spent the better part of the day in the ER and got to observe their interaction with many different types of patients and emergencies and was impressed by everything I saw and heard. Cannot thank them enough for their help and would never hesitate to go back there again. They are the best!

Never in my life have I ever had a more pleasant experience in an ER. This is my first time utilizing a hospital outside the big city- and WHAT a night and day difference the experience was. We were seen immediately- zero wait. My toddler daughter injured her wrist and needed an xray to be sure it wasn't broken. Thankfully only a sprain and they only needed to splint her. Bedside manner was by leaps and bounds the best I've ever experienced. The wrap job on the splint is like a work of art it was so perfectly executed. Breaks my heart that not everyone in the world gets to experience this quality of care. Everyone on the staff should be incredibly proud of themselves and the very high standard they set.
