We started my son at West Valley Speech just over a year ago with Emily Butterworth, and the progress we have seen in his speech during that short period of time has been immense. The play-based approach that Emily incorporates into each therapy session encouraged my son to participate every time and made him excited to come back each week. My son went from a shy 3 year old with a very limited vocabulary to a much more confident 4 year old who now speaks full sentences and loves to talk about everything! I also appreciate how the parents/caregivers are encouraged to be involved with each session, as the therapy helped my son as much as it helped me. I was able to learn different techniques to help my son with his speech at home by seeing how Emily used them during the session. My daughters both have seen Erin at West Valley Speech I can’t tell you how incredibly happy I am with them. They are AMAZING. My one daughter had her “s” corrected and she sounds so perfect now and my 2nd daughter like me has an Australian accent but is having trouble rolling her “R’s” I have never seen such ability to connect, support and help my daughters learn. Erin is wonderful with kids. I would give 10 stars if I could. If you or someone you know needs speech therapy, I would highly recommend West Valley Speech.

LOVE this place! The environment is set up so perfect for sensory needs! They have quiet gentle music playing in the waiting area along with aroma therapy infuser. All employees have been kind, respectful and professional at all times. The evaluation was so thorough and the therapist actually took her time to get to know my child. She played, talked and went at his pace. Very pleased with this place! Update: We have been working with Emily for the past seven months, and absolutely love her and her goals for our child. Emily’s expertise and dedication have been instrumental in fostering his growth, particularly in self-advocacy and emotional understanding. From the very first session, Emily’s warm and compassionate approach made our son feel safe and understood. She took the time to get to know him, recognizing his unique strengths and challenges, and tailored her sessions to meet his specific needs. Her ability to connect with him on a deep, personal level was evident and has been the cornerstone of his progress. One of the most profound changes we’ve noticed is our son’s ability to express and understand his sensory needs. Emily introduced strategies that empowered him to identify what he needs to feel comfortable and calm. This newfound awareness has significantly improved his daily experiences, both at home and in homeschool. Emily has equipped him with the tools to understand and communicate his feelings effectively. He significantly reduced acting out his emotions and instead​ has learned to articulate how he feels and why. This development has been a game-changer for our family, bringing more peace and understanding into our home. Emily’s support has extended beyond just our son. She has guided us as parents, offering valuable insights and practical advice that have helped us better support him in his journey. Her commitment to our son’s well-being and her genuine care for our family have made all the difference.

We had Emily Butterworth as a speech therapist for my daughter. She was sweet, patient and the perfect match. Her kind and bubbly personality helped pull my shy daughter out of her shell and she would tell me after sessions how much she loved Emily. The sessions were filled with fun games, laughter, and enjoyable rewards. The techniques used successfully helped my daughter correct an issue she had with pronouncing R’s. More than that Emily was always there to listen to my concerns and I could feel her caring nature. I am so grateful I chose West Valley Speech Therapy and even more grateful that we were paired with Emily.

We love coming to West Valley Speech Therapy! My daughter used to go to speech somewhere else and making the switch here has been great. She has had improvement and receives 1 on 1 without other kids around distracting her. My daughter sees Emily, she makes speech therapy fun! My daughter is always looking forward every week for her next appointment. I even personally love coming in, the facility is clean, always smells good, and the waiting room is enjoyable.

I definitely recommend this place if you are concerned your child is struggling with speech milestones. My daughter been seeing Ms. Emily and she is absolutely amazing. Plus my daughter loves going every week and she makes us feel right at home. Over the course of our session my daughter speech has grown with so many new words and the way she communicates is so much better. Plus I learned as a parent how to effectively communicate with my child and be able to make smooth transitions from one place to another.

After touring multiple mainstream speech facilities, we found West Valley Speech Therapy and we are so thankful! Our daughter works with Mrs. Alex and just in the few visits we've had, her speech has grown tremendously. She is excited to go to speech each week and loves practicing her speech at home. I am so incredibly grateful that we found West Valley Speech Therapy! From day one, my toddler was so well supported by his therapist Emily! He started out not even saying 'mama' at 2 years old and within a couple of sessions his speech and vocabulary exploded! Our kiddo asks to see Emily almost daily and has the best time during sessions. She uses a play-based approach that puts kiddos at ease and promotes their learning in a very natural way. She has also provided me with resources and suggestions on how to work with my child at home between sessions. Before coming here, we tried other speech therapy clinics for my toddler and were not impressed. We 100% recommend West Valley Speech Therapy and Emily!!
