I didn't expect any real improvement in a long-standing bowel problem when my doctor connected me to West Portland Physical Therapy Clinic--but I followed her recommendation and was pleasantly surprised to find that their exercises actually helped me. They listened carefully at my first visit, asked relevant questions, and explained the muscles involved with a very useful three-dimensional model. Then I was guided through a couple of simple daily exercises to practice during the week. At my next appointment, I was checked to see if I did the exercises properly. They dropped one I said wasn't useful, and gave me another more complex one. After four weeks, we agreed that I had improved my problems to a point where I didn't need to continue coming--though of course I would need to keep some exercising at home. I was impressed by their knowledge, their low-key, respectful and professional behavior, and by how they made improving my life a joint project. I'm glad I followed my doctor's suggestion.

Highly recommend West Portland Physical Therapy Clinic especially Christopher who worked with my son and was very patient and knowledgeable and helped my son regain strength in his knee/leg. Everyone there from scheduling to the other PT’s are wonderful.

Healing from a bike accident and needing PT for a clavicle break and serious hip bruising including hip bersa inflammation causing mobility issues, I found myself at West Portland Physical Therapy. Hannah S. took care of me and within a month through a progressive program, that started with simple skeletal mobility and moved on to strength, not only allowed me to use my shoulder again but also to walk and climb uphill without pain. Hannah’s knowledge of the human body and her careful listening as to where and what I needed was top notch. The facility has great parking (is also next to a Trimet stop), is clean and well supplied with private rooms and tables in the general area plus excellent equipment for many needs. I highly recommend West Portland Physical Therapy and will refer others and will be definitely return if needing PT again.

Good luck if the front office has to call you back for anything because they absolutely will not be. Two separate occasions now where they were I was waiting for prior auth and was explicitly told I would get a call from the front office once approved. The first time I went over 1.5 months waiting, so I called (again). Then a week later, I got a prior auth approval letter from my insurance, so that was all confusing. This time, over another month now, but I got the prior auth letter in the mail 2 weeks ago. My insurance is changing so I'm hoping to move to a place that actually cares if I'm recovering... Megan is a godsend and the ONLY reason this place is 3 stars. I had another staff member argue with me about if I was constipated when I literally had an MRI because of said constipation. Megan is the ONLY staff member who listens, validates and works towards what I actually needed. The other staff member was also focused on my frequent urination despite me asking for help with my daily chronic pain first! Not even asking to ignore it, just prioritize the thing actually causing me pain (I needed pelvic floor therapy), but she kept circling back to that and making that the priority. Megan always listened though and was also very good at her work. I genuinely think Megan is the only reason I saw any sort of change/improvements... except I'm starting to regress because no one will stay on top of scheduling for me. Early, during the first time I was waiting for a call, I called back a week after having no appointment and was assured they'd call me back. I did confirm they had my phone number correct on file as well, but this second occurrence indicates they just don't care.

A lot of times scheduling with a specialist can be incredibly stressful, but that wasn’t the case for West Portland Physical Therapy. They were able to get me in within a week of my referral coming through, and when I got there the receptionist was kind and helpful, and my therapist was very knowledgeable and helped me to understand what was going on without being condescending. I have high hopes as I continue care that I might receive the care I really need.

Chris Pulllen was wonderful. My goals were met through progressively more difficult exercises which I was diligent in doing at home. The right exercises will make you stronger.

My experience at West Portland Physical Therapy was overwhelmingly positive. My physical therapist was a good listener and very knowledgeable about physical therapy. She prescribed a variety of exercises for my issue that have helped me a great deal.
