West Markham Subacute and Rehabilitation Center

A nightmare of a place. Feces left on floor next to my Mom's bed. When I made plans to move Mom to better facility, the entire staff turned against me and threatened my Mom. I often found Mom in the morning in common room with nothing on except her t-shirt. Air conditioning did not work during hottest part of summer. Vomit allowed to pool on floor for long time. Horrific smells hit you when you arrive on the floor. Continuous beeping from patients needing assistance in their room but staff ignores all calls for help. Constant staff turnover. Staff gossips and laugh at patients. Everything is old and beat up with no common rooms where you can spend quiet time. No engagement with unimaginative activities for patients. They just throw the food at them and lots of sugar. DO NOT place anyone you care about in the place. I wish I could give this place a negative star, a one star is far too much.

Quality of care is terrible! We complained many times about swelling. She was discharged and was taking directly to ER where she was admitted with internal bleeding along with 35 extra pounds of fluid. Very dissatisfied.

I think a person should pay close attention to the reviews of a facility, word of mouth, ask questions, view the facility in the day and night; because my mother was there in this facility for rehab and she fell and was on the floor there little over an hour.....WELL!!!!... there procedure/protacol was if a patient falls the aid is to call nurse,then Dr..... FAMILY IS TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE ACCIDENT....I wasnt my mom had to tell me that morning at 8am and they treat it like it was nothing...the nurse once was told when it happen which was around 3am to 5am.....i was told by my mom when i came to see her that morning 8am ....she didnt get any x-rays taken until about 11: 40am.... when ask for copies of findings it became a problem...i later had to take her to E R she had low blood count, dehydration, BP extremly high .........so this place gets a rating of !!Sorry!!!....and i hope this helps someone......

I was there for rehab , stayed two months. I didn’t have any major issues with the staff. They do work hard and care about their residents. Shout out to the DON Ms. Dorothy and the nurses and PCTs on the 3rd floor. Can’t forget about the therapy staff, they were awesome ( Micheal, Nikki, Racheal, Corey, and Tyler)

They do not deserve the one. Worst place every they like to over Medicate the patients that complain. They like to screen phone calls if you call to much they just won't answer. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVE ONES THERE PLEASE!!!

No one is answering the phone. Has been busy all day! I have never heard anything good about this place.

Staff are overworked, underpaid, and under appreciated. Do your family member a favor, and look elsewhere.
