I will never forget my stay here ever. I suffered a catastrophic health event. It was comfortable and I feel like I was treated fairly. The staff t is amazing Special shouts to Albert,,Alex, Annie,, Beverly, , Ebony, Hiro We're treating me like a person that matter instead of simply just a patient. These people don't know how much they help me in such a hard time in my life. Thank you

I ONLY give one star for PT, OT, nice set up, and a few other staff. Those were good experiences. This is how bad my experience was after my C-3 SCI and needing rehabilitation. I am now 2.5yrs post op I am still dealing with ptsd because of the 11 days of Hell, but it’s time to address and protect others. I am stronger. It started after admission. Night workers dug in my personal belongings on the floor as I told them no, I couldn’t move. Complete violation. I signed at intake that my daughter would pick up next morning. First night nurse was trying to take my pants off and was telling me to sleep in diaper. I had cath in and could feel bowels. I told her I was fine in my bed clothing, I was only 51. Had been using bathroom at hospital. I have been type one diabetic for 30+ yrs, I had to argue to keep my prescribed insulin & my inserted monitor that checks Blood sugar every 5 min. I didn’t care if they checked too. (They get paid big bucks every time they check it) Days later they said I could as long as I brought everything from home. My endo gave them clear instructions. I wasn’t gonna use an insulin I knew my Dr didn’t want me taking and I’d used unsuccessfully before. I went days with blood sugars in 250-400. They deliver food and no insulin. They wouldn’t follow my insulin dosages prescribed because they didn’t know how to do carbs ratios. They had a one for all chart. I would count the carbs on my plate and a nurse would refuse correct dosages. I finally went to no Carb which pushed one of the nurses to lose it. The nurse was preparing the insulin as we talked about how many units I needed for the carbs I had ate and next thing I know I was stabbed in the arm with the syringe out of frustration. He grabbed his rolling nurse tray and rushed out of the room. That was the last straw. I seen PT 3 times, OT 4 out of 11 days. Left my room once, was given a wheelchair i couldn’t use my arms or hands with. It goes on and on. I was not only suffering from my injury and new paralysis but was dealing with stress and trying to keep my diabetes in control. I had to contact my primary, endocrinologist and neurosurgeon and was discharged because of concerns for my well being. Chi rehab before this threatened me financially if I left. I was told I’d have to pay the bill, would have no ability to get wheel chairs, toilet seats, hospital bed, etc. These were all lies. I think they are used to rolling over the vulnerable that can’t or don’t know how to advocate for themselves. This is a scary thought. This is part of my journey.

Every single one of these stars times a million goes towards Mercy!!!! She was unbelievably amazing working with my job. You could tell she wasn’t there just because it’s her “job”. She comes to work each day shining as bright as a star. Her smile beaming, her voice filled with joy because she truly enjoys what she does each and every day! If you have the pleasure to meet her I’m sure you will feel exactly the same! RN OF THE MONTH/YEAR AWARD GOES TO HER!!!! Thank you to CeCe as well as Vicky. Sadly DR. Weng would get a negative star, I was truly unhappy with his bedside manner, didn’t even speak to a family member for over a week and a half regarding my moms progress and to me that is upsetting. I had to have my mom call me at 630am just to connect with him. Mom would ask questions and his responses were short if he even answered it. He needs some coaching on how to work with people, he will have more patients, I will have only one mother.

My husband was discharged yesterday, our experience here was poor. At first the staff would not give me updates and my husband didn’t comprehend what they were telling him so he didn’t know he was supposed to give me a code. When they finally started communicating with me they never told me any details about his condition, even when I explained my condition and that I was not able to visit him. They never gave me enough information to make a decision about whether he could come home or needed after care in a nursing home. He was not able to answer the phone in his room, we went for almost two weeks with no communication and the staff never assisted him with this. They asked me to provide a weeks worth of clothes for him, I was shocked when they never did his laundry so all he had was dirty clothes. They gave him adult diapers since his underwear were dirty. I will never recommend this place to anyone, it truly was a nightmare the entire 3 weeks he was there. To top it off they neglected to find a nursing home so he had to remain a couple days so they could do their job.

My sister was checked in here (Tacoma Rehabilitation Hospital) yesterday. We are very impressed with the hospital and staff so far. They already are assessing her and charting what care she needs. Everyone is very kind and encouraging. We are deeply grateful there was a bed for her.

My husband was here after his stroke, they didn’t address his total needs at all. He went two weeks without being able to communicate with family or friends because nobody would help him with the phone. He had to wear dirty clothes or clothes they gave him because nobody did his laundry while he was there. We just discovered that they reported lies about his condition upon discharge to a nursing facility. If someone is a high fall risk and you have him under 24/7 supervision how can they be totally independent? He couldn’t walk, or transfer alone and you never addressed his eating problems. Oh but he was ready to go home with no help.

My husband fell and severely injured his neck which required spine surgery. After surgery he was sent to CHI Franciscan Rehabilitation Hospital. During his stay he was so medicated that he didn't even know where he was. He fell out his bed which was supposed to alert staff, but didn't. I found him one day in his bed soiled, food crumbs all through his bed and out of his right mind. There was absolutely no progress for him even being there. The staff there are lazy and unsympathetic to the needs of sick people. I had my husband transferred to another facility in which much more improvement is visible. But now I have to pay $200 per day because of the wasted time spent here . It's a shame that all the money my insurance paid this hopital for nothing other than keeping him medicated so he wouldn't interfere with the not tending to their patients. Someone should really take a look at the quality of care not being administered there.
