Villa Maria Nursing & Rehab

The negative posts seem to be coming from people who do not know the post covid healthcare problems. My dad went to VM 2 weeks ago and yes physical plant needs work but staff care DEEPLY about all residents. I run a senior living community and I would hire any employee from VM. I would rather have cake than frosting any day! The staff at VM they are the cake- excellent kind caring professional all of it and more. BTW they are staffed according to code! They have to be the Department of Public Health in Connecticut monitor this in long term care. My dad passed away there and I would give them 5 STARS and would pick them again even over Hospice in Branford! Give them a chance they DO care and if I did not mention it they have an EXCELLENT Rehab Dept.

The Villa Maria is a great place for your family member who needs attention and truly cared for by all staff. I enjoy seeing a smile on my family members face when I visit. I do not worry about my mom and husband who are residents at The Villa Maria. Staff makes you feel as though you are a family member.

BEWARE They don't want what's best for your parents they are a BUSINESS and this business is only concerned with making MONEY !! Do your research people. If your the patient, hopefully your family will help find you the best facility, its not this place. They don't have A/C in patient rooms here, how rediculous! The meals are primarily sandwiches and soup and do not include fruit. All the staff cares about is filling beds. The one thing the staff is great at is convincing your elders to live there by way of telling them they can't get better if they go home (psychic’s). So why not imprison yourself in this facility? The staff heavily involves themselves in family affairs and makes choices for their own gains, not helping the rehab patients to keep their independence. Find out how to make a formal complaint with the State if this happens to you. And keep making complaints your loved one tells you about or that you witness.

My mom has been a resident of Villa Maria for three years. It was the hardest and best decision I have ever had to make. Staff of the Villa Maria have been like family; they take excellent care of mom and give her lots of hugs. Recently, mom had surgery to lift her eye lids, and the second shift nurse called me to tell me they had just tucked her in for the night. The communication between the staff at Villa Maria and myself has been great. From Cindy, the owner, to Christine, her assistant, to Amy, the Social Worker, to Lisa, the Director of Nursing, to Claudia, the Director of Recreation, etc., whatever I tell them, they are all informed. They don’t just meet mom’s physical needs, they meet her emotional needs. Mom loves to sing. She is always front and center at the sing alongs.

My mom has been here only a short time. She is well taken of and clean and comfortable. Staff is great. Lots of smiles from the residents and staff. Enjoy my visits. No issues.

My Dad is a resident at Villa Maria. It’s such a relief to all of us to know he is not only safe but also well cared for!!! The staff is wonderful with the residents very friendly and caring. 💛

My mom has been at Villa Maria in Plainfield, CT for five years. She is well taken care of and well loved. Currently, mom has COVID. I get a daily update and can call anytime, day or night, to ask questions. The staff are like family - they care as much about me as they do about mom. Placing mom at Villa Maria was the hardest and best decision I have ever had to make. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for placement for their loved one.

The decision to place my mother in long term care last January was exceedingly difficult. The situation was only made worse by the isolation required due to the pandemic. I live out of state and can only praise the communication with the nursing and care giving staff. I was always notified of any changes and kept updated on her condition whenever I called. Amy and Genevieve were great at keeping me in contact with her through telephone and Facettme visits. My mother passed last week and I greatly appreciate the sympathy and respect they have shown to the family.
