Van Munching Rehabilitation Unit

My mother rehabbed for two weeks in Van Munching after a stroke. When we found out that she would be able to get into VMU after her hospitalization, we had no idea how lucky we were. The care was excellent. The therapists were all professional and did a good job of communicating the value of their exercises to my mom's specific health issues. Therapy included physical, occupational, cognitive, and recreational therapy. The PT gym was fantastic: clean, well-appointed, and spacious. My mother's therapy schedule was rigorous and sessions always began on time. The nursing staff, including aides, were also professional and always careful to be sure that my mother was getting excellent care in a safe environment. They did a good job of answering questions and communicating information to me. The facility was clean and the staff who kept the rooms clean were conscientious and kind. The dietary staff was attentive and available to answer questions. The meals came as ordered and the food was good and nutritious. As a result of the care my mother received at VMU, she has been able to transition well to continuing her recovery at home.

My most sincere thanks to the rehabilitation center staff who took care of my mother with great professionalism, warmth, and kindness. To the doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, head chef, and cleaning personnel, whose hard work made my mom feel healthy and with a great hope to live, I express my full gratitude and wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
