I have been to some rotten hospitals, but this one is the worst! Was there for surgery, and ended up being there for 7 hours, for a surgery that lasted 15 to 20 minutes. You would ask a nurse for information, and always the answer was, "I don't know". Even the nurses in the procedure room had the same answer. What the hell, they work in there all day long and can't answer simple questions. Makes you wonder what they know to do in surgery!!! I do not recommend this hospital for any procedures. Not even a check up!

After an ER visit which led to an inpatient stay for my father I can happily report “Our hospital is back!” It absolutely fills me with such relief, happiness, and security knowing I can put trust back into our hospital! The whole vibe was different. It was back to a team approach! People were smiling, looked happy to be working, and kept asking if we needed anything in the halls, on the elevator, in the cafeteria. Everywhere we went, everyone was so caring!!! The emergency department did a great job (Dr. Greer was awesome) and from the transporters up to the 6th floor, to housekeeping to all the nurses and nurses aides. Dr. Madosh is the best doctor ever! Every employee we encountered was phenomenal! I well remember what our hospital used to be…a top notch, highly respected facility. Frankly, it had lost its way, but thanks to new leadership, it is back!! Great job UP HealthSystem!

I had surgery here in February with follow up radiation in the fall. The doctors, nurses, techs and other staff have been compassionate and professional in the treatment of my cancer. This include inter-departmental communication & billing. The hospital is modern, clean and easy to access with plenty of parking.

Our family cannot thank UP Health System - Marquette enough!!!! Excellent doctors, nurses and staff. Saved my Dad's life and the nurses are extremely caring and hard-working. My Dad's nurse Dave, in ICU, cannot be thanked enough for doing an exceptional job. Great RN!!! Thank you, thank you to the ER staff as well. Wonderful care! We always travel the hour and a half North for the care at UP Health - Marquette. Wonderful!

The most dehumanizing experience of my life. I’ve yet to meet one person who has had a good experience here, every story is a horror story. Nurses had to poke me 4 different times to get the IV in, made comments how “everyone goes through this”, made a comment how “I guess you don’t need birth control” because I was there with my partner as if medical professionals don’t know that people are on it for a variety of reasons??? Was there for 12 hours and received no treatment other than an ultrasound which they then used a different finding (that is not a risk at all) as an excuse to ignore why I went in. The medicine I was told I was being prescribed was never sent to the pharmacy. Point being maybe if you see that someone has never been to the hospital in their entire life and they tell you they are in excruciating pain believe them. I could be bleeding out and I would have someone take me to the next nearest hospital before I ever step foot into that ER again.

This emergency room is by far the worst experience in an ER I've ever had. I waited 4 hours to be taken back, after a rough wait. I was advised to go to the Marquette ER by my orthopedic surgeon so I could see the orthopedic on call and get an MRI for my injury and undergo emergency surgery if needed. I am unable to walk, they did not provide a wheelchair nor ask me if they could even help me in anyway to get around. Luckily I had my walker I hopped around with, but with injuries to my hands and arms from my injury, it did make it hard. They took people with a runny nose, a lady who saw an aurora around her head and thought it was blocking her chakras, and a lady who was there for med-refills before anyone else in the waiting room. I asked two nurses why they were taking people back that just walked in 3+ hours after I've been waiting and they told me to read the posting on the wall. They told me those people needed emergency care before others based on their color chart for what's urgent. The triage guy came out screaming at me to shut up because nobody wants to hear me asking why I was not taken back. He screamed in my face and everyone there witnessed. Literally, screamed at me. I told him his customer service skills were unprofessional and I wasn't going to have a man scream in my face. I'm paying for a service and his job is to calm anyone who's upset, not add fuel to the fire. When I was taken back I was given a bed in the hallway, never offered help to get on the bed, so I had to stand there on 1 leg in the hallway. They came over gave me a leg brace and asked how they should put it on, because I wasn't in the bed. I explained I needed help onto the bed and they walked away. They told me it wasn't broken or sprained (via the X-ray), then discharged me with a diagnosis of a sprained knee. *First, I was treated with complete disrespect after I was simply trying to understand why several people were taken back before me and others that waited hours with serious emergency department worthy reasons to be seen. We were dismissed like we were nothing. *Second, I don't understand how this hospital can employ evil workers who don't care about compassion, calmness, and healing people. They allow their workers to be completely horrible, disrespectful, and mean to patients. *Third, I was misdiagnosed by this medical team (which is illegal). I have an ACL injury, not a sprained knee like they wrote in my discharge papers. Malpractice is not taking the time to find the actual diagnosis and treatment or giving a misdiagnosis. *Fourth, I never would have asked the nurses if I had been notified when I arrived about their system. If someone could have explained their color chart in the beginning, maybe that guy wouldn't have screamed at me and I wouldn't have had to ask the nurses anything. DON'T GO TO THIS HOSPITAL, THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY & COVID COUNTS, NOT THE GOOD PEOPLE IN THE UP or the visitors whom need medical emergency attention, for real. This hospital left me crying and feeling an urge to hire an attorney. They did not fulfill any passion, confidence, healing, understanding, or hope to anyone I witnessed there. I waited 4 hours to be seen in the waiting room and spent 10 minutes in a hallway receiving no proper care. If I could give it zero stars I would. STAY AWAY FROM THIS INSTITUTION.

At this point, I feel like I am being harassed by the billing department because they have "exhausted all attempts" at contacting the company that provides my Workers' Comp insurance, even though the other medical office that provided me with after-care seemed to have no issues billing the same company. They are threatening to send my bill to collections, even though we have sent the paperwork into them multiple times. It seems like their is a lack of communication between departments internally. The customer service received was about as bad as bad gets- being told "well this is from 9 months ago..." Exactly! How are you still unable to figure it out 9 months later? After multiple calls from both myself and my supervisor have gotten us nowhere. This is a pathetic excuse for a hospital, the messed up stitches they gave me (yes, 9 months ago) still bleed. I could have done a better job using my travel sewing kit to stich myself up. What a joke of a health care establishment. 10/10 do NOT recommend.
