Tucson Orthopaedic Institute provides excellent care—unless you're there for a worker’s comp issue. Over the past 10 years, I’ve visited them intermittently, roughly twice for worker’s comp and twice for unrelated issues through regular insurance. When using regular insurance, I’ve consistently received prompt, respectful care with active listening. However, when presenting a worker’s comp claim, I’ve experienced a stark difference in treatment, as though I'm being treated with suspicion. Most recently, during a worker’s comp visit with Dr. Stevens, I tried to explain my pain, yet he repeatedly focused on why he couldn't write a note, even though I wasn’t requesting time off. (For example, I tried to describe how the pain radiated when I did pushing motions such as accelerating in a car- his immediate response was: "Well I can't control the way you get to work, you could have family or take an uber" -- Sir, I'm just describing the pain not saying I won't or can't drive. I wanted my symptoms evaluated first and then we could discuss if return to work was appropriate but return to work was all he cared about. He spent less than 5 minutes with me, was dismissive, barely reviewed the urgent care X-rays, and didn’t order new ones, despite the entire reason I came to this appointment was due to an urgent care radiologist recommending further investigation for a potential hairline fracture that could only be seen from one view on x-rays. (I didn't believe I had a fracture but I was following up because it's what I was told to do). This experience, coupled with a previous worker’s comp visit, has shown me that when dealing with worker’s comp, the focus seems to be on rushing patients through rather than addressing their actual symptoms. In contrast, the care provided for regular insurance patients is significantly better so in the future I will only visit TOI for self-pay or insurance covered reasons.

Terrible. Don't go to this location. Took my last day off work that I had saved for this appointment drove over 40 minutes to get there and was told my apt time was moved 45 mins prior. Which the lady told me they had called and left a voicemail- WHICH THEY DID NOT. NO VOICEMAIL FROM ANYONE. And was told the Dr had left for the day to make another appointment which I can't anymore. Was told all locations were done for the day. I couldn't just sit there and wait to be seen. They had text the appointment time originally so why didn't they text me again with the supposedly new time. Because they sure didn't call and 100% didn't leave any voicemail. WHAT A JOKE...JUST WOW

The office at Northwest Orange Grove campus office has expanded since I was last there. More people to check patients in, minimal wait time. Everyone was friendly and professional. Pleasant experience.

I would like to acknowledge CEO Ms. Paula, we had an appointment that due to someone calling out was rescheduled to another day, without us being notified. That was the bad part, we showed up at the original time and after talking with the office manager and Ms. Paula they apologized for the inconvenience and even fitted us in with Dr. Hanks... Dr. Hanks was the first doctor who actually seemed to care for my wife. Though her medical issue is outside of Dr. Hanks specialty, he was empathetic and even offered referrals and personal calls to rheumatologist. To me that service goes a long way! How businesses make good when things aren't good and the service they provide.

I do not recommend this place they are very rude very outspoken. They degrade you and yell at you in front of other patients especially the people at the front desk was turned away because I have a prior bill. I am fighting right now. I have access the appointment today Would've been covered by access and they still turned me away. I feel these people in the front office need to get trained better. Now I'm going to be submitting paperwork and taking the doctor to court for their mistakes. Again, I do not recommend this place only for the fact that they are not customer service friendly, and they do not know how to speak to you regarding a bill

I had a great experience with Dr. Sonia with my knee. She explained thoroughly what she thought was going on diagnosed listen to my concerns. Great experience would definitely highly recommend. Thank you Steve Wallace.

Uncomfortable (1970 style) chairs, hot in lobby (poor ventilation as it was cooler outside than inside), single bathroom in lobby, bathroom smelled and had no paper towels, poor doctor status updates on lobby monitor. If zero stars were possible, I would not have given them a single star.

I fractured my patella and Dr. Prickett put it all back together. He is a wonderful surgeon. I really appreciate his nurse Sunny too. Great team.
