My husband needed rehab after a 6 day hospital stay. What a great experience he had here. The communication with us by admissions, the social worker and nursing staff was great. All services started right away and the care was wonderful. He needed grooming after his hospital stay and he was showered, shaved, had his nails trimmed the first day there. The food is good and the kitchen worked with him on special dietary needs. PT is excellent. The staff is warm and friendly always doing special things to make his time there comfortable. This is a well run operation with patient care a high priority. My only concern was how to get in more time out of bed and building endurance by additional time walking. If there is a next time we will work on this. Three months earlier he had a terrible experience at West Valley Post Acute so he was anxious about spending time in rehab. Now we know where to go.

My family and I are so overwhelmed with gratitude by the quality of care, the genuine and professional staff who served my 94 year old mother who broke her hip and stayed at Topanga Terrace for 3 months. I highly highly recommend this facility. We had so many wonderful CNAs and Nurses who lovingly took care of my mother. My mother has dementia and there were numerous nights where she would want to get out of bed while not permitted by her doctor due to her surgery and I would stay there till 11:00 p.m. and the Nurses would give me assurance she will be taken care of and they would assign someone to stay by her room to watch over her. The staff including the awesome Physical Therapists were so kind, gentle and patient. Today, my mother is a walking miracle. First because if God's loving kindness as well as the superb care of this wonderful facility. This facility along with the staff became our 2nd family. Thank you Topanga Terrace for your professional operation and care. We are so thankful we chose your facility and would recommend Topanga Terrace to anyone who has a loved one who needs great care. God bless you all.

MUST READ! This nursing home is one of the worst nursing homes I ever experienced in my life. My dad's been in and out of nursing homes for 20 years and finally came to topanga terrace and this is by far the worst one. So many things to list, giving my father the wrong medication amost everyday , No one is on call when he needs help , Elderly people are screaming that they need help and no nurses are coming to attend them. They just put a sick individual with my father in the same room and I addressed it and they haven't done anything about it. This place is freezing cold and I told them that my father is freezing and I've been arguing with the director to turn on the heater and heard his excuses about the vent and he said he ordered a mini heater from home depot that I've never seen . UNBELIEVABLE! The food is unbelievably unhealthy and I'm cooking for my father 3 times a day so he won't eat their unhealthy food. Also every week supposedly someone gets covid and the whole place gets testing and everybody has to go through a nightmare . The place is very dirty and outdated, every patient has to look at these huge black dumpster trash cans that they leave in the room. I feel very sorry for every patient at Topanga terrace . This is not a good nursing home for anyone. 😔 THE LIST GOES ON

I selected this facility from the list of options provided to me from Dignity Hosptal formerly known as Northridge Hospital. Upon my mother's initial admission she requested be sent by ambulance to a hospital because she didn't feel well. She was diagnosed with C. Diff. After a week at West Hills Hospital she returned to Topanga Terrace for rehabilitation and occupational therapy. During this 2 week stay the therapist really weren't able to start any of the planned objectives until 2 days before discharging my mother. So why was she discharged, I think it was due to constant complaints about the level of care she was receiving and inaccurate information regarding her progress at the facility and yes I have obtained copies of those reports sent to the insurance company. So let's begin with the level of care. In all reality the ongoing diarrhea was a challenge and was exhausting to anyone assigned to her care, however, that the career that was chosen. To let someone sit in feces and urine for up to 20 minutes or more is unacceptable. Yes, I was there daily so my accounting of events is actual and factual. Furthermore, why would you give someone with C. Diff. pineapple juice, grape juice, and apple juice with every meal. The icing on the cake was when I discovered they were giving her laxatives with her daily medications. She has constant diarrhea, why are you giving her laxatives? I put an end to that nonsense. Also, there was the matter of all the juices being given to her in a styrofoam bowl 🥣. When I asked the nursing station about this. She said they didn't put drinks in a bowl, so I took a picture of the meal tray and provided it to her as evidence. She said she would contact the kitchen. However, the bowls of juices kept coming. Then there was the matter of the caregivers reminding patients (who wanted to maintain their dignity and go to the restroom) that they had a diaper on it was okay to use it in the diaper. Well how would you feel laying in bed in urine and bowel movement for 20 minutes or more hoping someone would respond to the call button and change you into something dry and clean. By the way all these concerns were also addressed with the executive administrators which is why they falsified my mother's progress reports.

My wife was a resident of Topanga Terrace for one year. This a 5 star facility. The Administrator, the department heads, the RN's, CNA's LVN,s and RT's are all very caring and top notch. The business office and social workers are also very professional. They weened her off a ventilator! They also work closely with the staff doctor as well as any specialists. We have been associated with other Sub-acutes, and in our opinion nothing comes close to Topanga Terrace.

I had a broken hip and femur. After 8 days at hospital I was sent here. Absolutely amazing place and staff from every Dept. were helpful and most of all kind. PT was amazing and helped me regain my trust in walking even though I was resistant. Wonderful facility. Very clean as well. I was surly blessed to have landed at Topanga Terrace.

Everyone at Topanga Terrace was wonderful during a difficult time. They took great care of my mom, helped us navigate things like insurance, and answered our questions patiently.
