This was one of the most interesting things I've done anywhere. We did the Polaris tour (call ahead for this one, at least a week ahead of time). Our tour guides were fun, quirky, and extremely informative. We had such an incredible time learning all about mining during the last prospecting rush in the US, and about the history of Tonopah. The tour rates were extremely affordable as well!!

This is a must-see location if you are staying a few days in Tonopah and enjoy learning about the mining history of Tonopah. This historical location consists of a museum and numerous buildings and mining equipment used during the heyday of this mine. The museum is not very large, but it is full of unique items related to mining as well as numerous photographs from the past. There is plenty of parking in front of the museum and it is also where you park if you have signed up for a tour. The staff here is simply the best, extremely knowledgeable and really a lot of fun to talk to about mining back in the early days of the 1900s. We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to Jeff Marin and Grace Gearhart who made our visit the very best. Grace was our tour guide today and she was so much fun, and you can tell quite quickly that she loves her job and knows what she is talking about. Since there were no other people at the museum or on the tour, we were able to have Grace for close to four hours of touring the mine park. When we returned to the museum, Jeff was much than willing to address any additional questions we had concerning the park. We tried to include as many photos as possible, so people can see for themselves how wonderful this place is and why it is worth the visit. The museum also offers a military discount, and the tour is absolutely worth the price, which is more than reasonable, if downright a bargain for such a place. Finally, we spent all morning or approximately 5-6 hours here and that is still not enough to learn and see all that is here, we will be back again.

Very cool place to look around and see how mining was back in the day. I was stopping by mines in and around California/Nevada lines and then came across this mining park. It was $5 when I went for a ticket. If you want a guided tour on a Polaris, the employee recommends calling a week in advance to book as they fill up fast. Wasn’t too bad walking around though. There’s a lot of historic mining here. Very cool. I would recommend the stop to see and learn about mining and history.

This was an awesome experience. For $3 you get to explore the mines and ruins at your own pace, and between the paper map and all the signage, one could easily spend 2-3 hours here if you want to see everything. I spend about 45 minutes and felt like I barely scratched the surface (ha) of all the history there is to see here. You can go into some of the buildings to see the old equipment, and metal grates allow you to safely stand directly over DEEP stopes and mine shafts if you are brave enough. Staff are very friendly and have lots of helpful information about the park and the Tonopah area.

We had a great time. Free museum and only $3 per person for park entry. There is so much to see. The docent was very knowledgeable and helpful and recommended some great spots. The park is huge, we were only there for about an hour but you could easily spend a day here. We only covered a small portion of the park. Great experience, next time we're in town we plan to check out other sections of the park.

Don't just drive through tonopah like I did for many years, take the time to stop and visit this fantastic historic mining park. You can either walk the large park on very well graded paths or they will drive you around. Tons of interesting history and equipment to see. Great friendly staff as well.

Grace was so incredible & extremely knowledgeable! She really made our visit so much more enriching. We enjoyed the entire visitors center, the show film was packed with history. You could spend an entire afternoon just reading & exploring everything they have to offer. There is so much Pride in this little town & such History. They even give a Military Discount. We took the self guided tour. There is a guided tour, but only on specific days & times so make sure you check that out
