Thomas Hospital

We recently had our baby girl here at Thomas and i just want to thank the labor and delivery nurses for such a wonderful experience. All our nurses and doctors were wonderful but Skylar, Taylor and Beth are three of our favorites the entire time. Skylar took care of us the first night and kept our spirits high, calmed our nerves and kept us laughing. Taylor and Beth took care of us the next day and these ladies were so sweet, funny and really advocated for us during our time there. i can’t thank them enough for taking such great care of us.

My husband and I both have been treated for life threatening conditions in the last 6 months and from Malbis ER to the PostOp floor at Thomas we could not have been treated more professionally or been cared for in any better way. From the Drs & nurses that diagnosed us to the cardiologist and surgeons that repaired us to the nurses who started us on our healing process we were truly blessed. Thank you Thomas Hospital, thank you so much!

It was busy and beds were filled up,so I understood the wait time. (4 hours). Had to stay in pain for a good while with no help,then when I did get seen the doctor was very brisk and didn't really listen to me. I understood they needed the bed I was in for other patients,so I'm trying not to be harsh,and everyone has days where they don't have the greatest bedside manner,but I was not completely satisfied with my care. If you are chronically ill,you have a 50/50 shot of getting a decent doc who listens. The nurses were very kind and helpful and my blood draw was done by a lovely lady who was quick and efficient and kind.

As far as our experience there, it was fine. But when we started getting billed for everything, is when the problem started. First, the patient was a self pay patient. He has no insurance! So when we get a $1600 bill, what would you do? Exactly! Make a payment. Well we only got two statements from them. We made a payment each time. And then we stopped getting statements! And today, we got a text from a collection agency about that bill! What the hell??!?!? Since when do hospitals send you to collections if you are making payments. Also, why did they only send two statements? And why did we not even get a notice in the mail saying they were sending to collections? I don’t understand!!! This is wrong! When people are making payments, then that should be enough! Most self pay patients do not have the money to pay in full! Do better Billing Department!!! This was not right!

I've been admitted twice at Thomas medical center. And I've had nothing but the best care from the entire hospital. Amazing bunch of nurses, house keeping very friendly and very attentive. I've worked in Healthcare for 39 year's and Thomas Hospital in Fairhope Alabama is by far the of the best. Keep up the good work I'm proud to know our community has such an amazing Hospital and staff and the Free Standing Emergency Room absolutely amazing. Ronald Eugene Miley

I was seen in the ER for headaches with dizziness. The doctor lied in his progress notes stating that I denied having such issues when it was the entire reason for my visit. He seemed to be upset that I did not want pain meds because I wanted to know what was wrong he only wanted to treat pain He did absolutely nothing He did not listen to what I said and change my words to fit his aggenda. Not good health care don’t go to Thomas Hospital

Usually my first preference, but late night shift has me blown. I informed the staff there was probably urine on the floor of the waiting room and no call was made for janitorial service nor was a finger lifted to even throw a paper towel over it. Gross! Give me the towel and cleaner for heavens sake, I'll do it!

Nurse Joanna, Kayla, Amelia, and Tina did an amazing job taking care of me. I was going through the worse pain of my life with a kidney stone rupture. They helped me through it the best way they knew how and comforted me the way I needed. Nurse Joanna was the first nurse I had when I arrived. She really cared and got me through it the best way she could when I had to painfully wait to get my surgery. I know it was probably stressful and wanted to give them a shout out. Everyone is sweet and sometimes things were crazy there but they did their best in my eyes! For the pain I had, I couldn’t have asked for better nurses to tend to me. -Olivia Counselman
