Left a review and it is now gone...not sure how that happened. Glad I took a screenshot of it is I can repost it. I went to view The Woods as my stepmother was thinking of putting my dad there. We walked in and saw no staff. I walked down one corridor and the smell of urine and feces were so bad that it made you gag. Some patients were in a sitting room and one woman had almost fallen out of her chair. There was urine on the floor. Once again, not one staff member is sight. On the other end of the corridor all the nurses were in the nursing station chatting. Feet up on the chairs. The looked to be extremely young and could care less who we were. Not one of them asked us if they could help us. On that corridor again, I saw no staff members with a patients I can't imagine that anyone would put their family in this facility. I would not put my cat or dog in this facility. It should be shut down immediately..

The most INHUMANE place I have ever stepped into!!! The smell was intolerable, which resulted in my sister and I running out the door gagging!!!! Actual human beings left unattended, sitting and laying in their own waste, moaning. We walked from one end to the other (noses tucked in our shirts) and finally found several staff members huddled up laughing at the end of the hall, far from actual patients. NOT ONE STAFF MEMBER ASKED US ANYTHING!! We both broke down once outside. No human or animal for that matter should be in that place!!!!!! SHUT IT DOWN!!!!!
My Mother is a resident at the Woods.. I cannot be happier with the way she has been treated by the folks there. She is so happy, and for that I cannot repay them. I love this place, and I respect each and every employee that has served my Mom. God Bless this place, and may God bless them in the future. update…. The Woods has been bought by another corporation, and the care has went SOUTH - not in a good way. We took my Mom out of the Woods due to poor treatment, and neglect. Hope they get this figured out so the good people of Monticello have a good option for assisted living.
So far my mother has received adequate care. However I have had issues for 3 weeks about the weekend staff not letting me speak with my mom because somehow when I was entered as a contact it listed me as having no contact. This was hopefully straightened out today. It may not seem like a big deal but when your mother is terminally ill every minute matters.
May God be with all that enter these doors.
