I would like to give a thank you to The Whole Child, they changed my life and my kids life for the better, it has been a journey and I’m very thankful to my worker Ms.Perla Bernal for guiding me, help me with permanent housing, be my mentor at times listen to my concerns. Also Ms.Maria Jauregui for giving me information and connecting me helped me find my permanent home.I’m so thankful for The Whole Child staff thank you for helping families like mine to progress and give that little boost to succeed! Life has been harsh and hard but if you focus and put your mind in what really matters that will make us progress and succeed…. A million times thank you so much for helping families ❤️ Here’s some pictures of my kids enjoying their new home 🏠 thank you so much God Bless all of you !!

Not the greatest experience, especially if you’re not a certain ethnicity or demographic. Needless to say, I regret not reporting and grievances at the time. Since this organization is pretty much stationed in the East LA areas with a large Hispanic population and majority of the case workers are hispanic, there’s a negligence and bias against African American, Caucasian and Asian clients. I’ve witness and experienced this as a client. I remember having a disagreement with an hispanic client while living in a shelter. This lady was the aggressor and called the police on me unwanted and this same resident had multiple instances of acting as an aggressor and causing problems with other residents. I never touched her, never threatened her, I just spoke up for myself. The police left and even didn’t understand why this lady called them. The very next day, my case manager from whole child came to the shelter and tried to evict me and send me to a shelter in Boyle Heights of all places where the gangs have been known to terrorize African Americans. No disciplinary actions for the hispanic lady who wasn’t even a citizen might I add. After two months they exited me and my child out the program which was a blessing in disguise. But at that time I was put back in a position of being homeless. YET the other residents who some who been there for A YEAR were allowed to stay. I was quiet and didn’t bother anyone. The blessing is I wound up getting a job, with referral of a friend. I’m now making a GREAT salary and finishing up my masters degree and I have a lovely place to stay. This organization and biased. If you have any issues or the same situation as me, don’t hesitate to report. They will not help you if you don’t look like them.

This place is a scam. They only take in people for the money. They do not help...they actually make things worse. Then they discard the people when they can't make anymore money off of us. We are just a number to them and not humans...they make you feel subhuman and worthless. There are a couple staff members who are great but as for the rest...they should have never entered this field or career. They act like they hate people and their jobs. They do nothing for most people. I could say so much but I'll save it for the letter I will be writing to the governor, city counsel, media and whoever else that will listen. Things they put helpless woman and children through here are disgusting. This place should be accountable for things they do and don't do. I'm doing this not only just for myself but for also the many vulnerable families coming here for hope. Nothing changes because there is no accountability anymore.

I wish I could give this organization a zero. Their organization lacks the ability to give accurate information. I call them and the person who answered the phones said they took my insurance, then when the referral from the school was set the call and said sorry but we do not take you insurance. At which time I told the that they needed to improve the training they gave their staff. They then call me an d left a message about the referral. I call the back and a day later they called. Carisa say she had to look at the referral but then her supervisor got on the phone and told me, how can we help you since we already told you that we do not take you insurance. People on the field of helping those in an already stressful situation should not add to the problem. Their COO or CEO need to take a good hold of their company and make sure their people do not cause harm. If need be they should have a script that they read to potential clients. No wonder their main source of business is Med-I-cal. Do not waste you time with these people, they have no clue as to what they are doing.

I just got a call from this place. I was told since I got help from Hopics they weren't willing to help me. She said there would be no other agency that would be willing to help me. I told her this was incorrect since this was the first time I heard this from any other agency. She let me know if I wanted help I would have to go back to Hopics which some of the ladies who work there are unprofessional. They don't seem to care what your situation is.

I have supported the work of The Whole Child for nearly 5 years. My organization has provided hygiene backpacks to their clients prior to Covid-19. Personally, I have found Vanessa Sedano to be a very compassionate and caring person and "agent for change" for those seeking homeless services.

The whole child housing at 9251 Pioneer santa Fe springs CA 90670 Housing referral service here is terrible I've been trying to get help from them since may 2018 and I had to wait until July 2018 and still nothing no use talking to supervisor don't think they have one I've spoken to many supervisor and no use. What is annoying is that all the agency's keep on sending me over here for help and nothing I explained situation many times and every time they want my situation to be worse than it is and for what they aren't in my situation to understand what I'm going through. it's just a waste of my time and gas because if they aren't going to help why referral me here all the time.

I'll have to admit that the whole child housing division is complete garbage!! I know many will get referred here by TLC services etc but please do your research and go else where. Where the staff will actually help you and guide you. My experience with this agency has been hectic and I'v found myself in a worse situation from when I first started with this agency. My case manager Marina Mejia is a complete air head! They don't work with you or try to find you any kind of leads they don't provide you any type of help other then housing you for a few months in hotels or in some "shelter". Your stay in a motel is not garenteed you live month by month not knowing your next move. They never call you in advance to tell you your going else where so that you can prepare. No you get a day or 2 if your lucky to pack and move. You get sent to "shelters" with no insight or details of where your being sent. They encourage you to find a job which I did then got sent to boyle heights where we couldn't be home between 9am to 3pm. Had a situation occur at the shelter I called left voicemails and sent emails to my worker which she never responded to!! I drove to the Santa fe office July 16th where I asked to speak to her and the dumb receptionist didn't even know how to lie to me. She tried to tell me that she's in a meeting that if i wanted to talk to her I'd have to wait for her to finish I said ok I'll wait I waited 2 hours with my 3 boys. Nothing happened the stupid receptionist comes back with a stupid business card which Marina wrote to come back and see her the 26th of july oh and by the way the shelter asked me to leave and to pickup my things by 2pm that same day had to go get my fiance out of work so he can help me where he lost his job that day aswell. MARINA left my family out on the street until then and moving forward to today she called me Friday the 28th where she left me a voicemail saying hey Diana I will not be extending your motel vouchure so check out october 1st by 11 if you WANT! to have a meeting with me DROP BY THE OFFICE AT 10:30AMv thank you have a nice weekend. Is she cucu? Check out is at 11am where am I putting my stuff when I have absolutely no where to go? She gave us no where else to stay no other shelter nothing it's 1:13am and I'm packing trying to figure out where our next move will be. They tell you to save money find a job and to look for housing. But they house you in places where you can't save hold a job or even make future plans because you have no way of knowing what will happen next. I'm so disappointed for even giving this place a chance they are such garbage and don't have your best interest in mind. The things my boys and I have been exposed to is just garbage please before coming here find other centers on your own!!! Don't rush to the first place your told about you'll be waisting your time money and gas on nothing but headaches and further disappointment these knuckle heads are clearly there for a paycheck not because they want to help homeless families. I'd give a zero but we can't.
