The River Source - Arizona Drug Rehab Program

DO NOT send anyone you care about here! If I could give this place zero stars I definitely would do so! My son entered this facility on a Sunday in July. He was in detox for about 5 days. On day 6 he called me and sounded a little strange. On day 7 when we were supposed to be able to come and visit him, I received a phone call at 2 AM stating he was having an “episode” and the crisis team was called. I was called about 2 hours later and told he was not taken by the crisis team but that he wanted to leave. When I spoke with him, it was clear something was wrong. I asked if he had been given any medication and they told me he was given Seroquel and Trazadone. I asked if there was a doctor on staff that could check to see if he was having an adverse reaction to the medication. I was told the doctor wouldn’t be in until Monday. I was then called by the “director” and told I needed to meet her there at 9 to pick him up. At 6:50 I was called and told my son fled the facility and I needed to come immediately. Since we were about an hour away, my husband and I arrived shortly before 8. When we arrived the director was outside, handed me my son’s bag and then told me he ran into a field. I was told they were not equipped to handle mental health concerns but only substance abuse. I would like to know why their website says otherwise and they clearly prescribe heavy duty mental health medication???? We drove around for 3 hours looking for my son only to find out from the local fire department that he was arrested on the Riversource property!! The so called director clearly knew what happened yet allowed us to search AZ City for hours looking for our son. My son had a severe adverse reaction to the medication they gave him. He ended up in the Florence Hospital. Clearly they give medication with little to no medical supervision to make sure patients are okay. This place should lose its license. I repeat, DO NOT go here or send anyone you know here!

I have been through this process so many times I nearly gave up. I found my spiritual awakening in the Arizona City Desert. Thank you River Source for helping guide me out of the darkness. Your staff and facilities reminded me what it feels like to live again. I will forever be grateful... If you're ready to change your life this is an amazing place to start.

The Riversource is the best treatment center I’ve been to. The employees are very knowledgeable and genuinely caring. The programming is extremely helpful and has built a sober foundation for me. I’m extremely grateful and thankful to be able to start a new life, happy and sober!

This place is crap. First don't be fooled by the pictures. It's run down and ugly. Secondly, they kicked my son out after a week. They tried to take him off his Suboxone in a week and refused to titrate slower claiming some protocol bs. As you would expect this agitated him and they claimed he was volatile and needed to leave. Kicked him to the curb literally and made him wait there while it took us over an hour to get to him. Because he was only there for a week they owe us almost $1000 refund and 5 months later still nothing and no response from the person we had been communicating with about the refund. I want our money back!

Do not come here if you’re having severe alcohol withdrawals. My cousin went unresponsive yesterday due to their negligence of not providing meds when needed. They sent him to the hospital and when he was released back to their care they had medically discharged him telling him he had to leave the facility. They packed his belongings and didn’t offer him a ride and wouldn’t allow him to wait at the facility to find a ride at 8pm. He had to walk to a Dollar General to wait for a ride in the middle of nowhere. Once he checked his belongings he realized they didn’t give him the medicine he brought in from his PCP. We’ve called and left messages but they won’t respond. Unfortunately, he will probably have to go back to the hospital today because he may have a seizure. They could’ve helped him find a facility that could handle his level of care, instead they discharged him with no guidance and no medication. I’ve contacted an attorney as I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. 😢

If you love your family DO NOT LET THEM GO HERE. My dad went for treatment and had paranoia and hallucinations with the withdraws. The facility let him leave in the night, where he passed away that evening since he was on his own in a bad state. Please please I urge you to go anywhere else.

Best detox, staff, & care given. Highly recommend this place for detox and rehab needs for drugs and alcohol. Staff is very caring, Francisco and weekend staff rock, thank you!!
