Unfortunately, I've had to utilize services here a couple of times. The first experience, was extremely traumatic (from providers not believing that something was wrong, to being bounced from other outside providers, & being "required" to get two separate closed MRIs... I'm claustrophobic, to being told that nothing was wrong because the MRIs didnt show anything, to the surgery... the issues with the surgery were not only the actual surgery but with SIH also). I ended up being correct in my own personal assessment of what was wrong & had a debriedment to the shoulder & a bicep tendon repair. It was, by far, the most excruciating surgery I've ever had. Recently, I ended up with a similar issue on my other shoulder. I got an MRI & PT scheduled on my own prior to getting an appointment here again. I was again blown off. First, I was told that there were no tears (despite the MRI showing tears to the bicep tendon) & then when I had a second visit with the doc, he changed his tune completely & said he did think there were tears but wanted another MRI. It was recommended for me to go to St. Louis by several other medical professionals & I'm so thankful I did. The surgeon there was able to clearly see the issue with the MRI I already had & was willing to proceed. I had the same surgical procedure earlier this week & the difference is night & day. Minimal pain (barely had to take any pain medicine) & can get up & moving without crying.

I visited the Herrin and my son was seen by Dr. Brazis. She requested multiple x-rays, and we immediately took care of them. Since then, I have been trying to get in touch with Dr. Brazis or her nurse. It has been a week, and we still have not heard anything about the x-ray results or her consultation report. It is very difficult to reach the institute, with extremely long wait times. They seem indifferent to my calls and emails through the portal. I am considering filing a complaint

Upsetting!! After waiting for an appointment to see an orthopedic surgeon and not a mid-level provider, i was called the day before to change my appointment time. I arrived to the Herrin office and was told that the provider would not see me because I am under 50 years old?? I was to be put on schedule with another mid-level provider or to reschedule again.. I live over an hour away. What a waste of my time! I had to request off work for this. I should have just gone the other direction to St Louis. Never again.

Would only recommend Dr. Young’s office if you want multiple failed procedures, multiple years of your life wasted, and to not even be treated like an actual human being who has a life in chronic pain. Should have known after my first surgery when I had to go to the ER my post-opp night, almost lost my hand due to casting being put on too tight. I never even had issues with my elbow until my second procedure with him, now I have bad cubital tunnel syndrome that makes my ring & pinky finger go numb DAILY for HOURS. Never returning to that place again. Staff are liars, only tell you 1/10 the truth, & take no responsibility for their actions. Also can barley speak to one of his staff without being interrupted every time. Paperwork they made for my lawyer had my first name spelled wrong & the date of my procedure wrong. And this is after years of being their “patient”. Very careless with their patients & treated me like I was nothing. Like I said, I would only recommend if you want multiple surgical procedures failed and multiple years of your life wasted.

Poor experience, even getting my medical records which I requested 5 months ago and still don't have them. Staff treat you like crap. Can't even get a return phone call from a supervisor.

One star is only for the drs. Office staff seems to care more about socializing than getting patients in. Have been multiple times for followup appts and have never been seen within 30 minut3s of the scheduled appt. We have tried mornings, midday, and afternoons. If you enjoy wasting an entire day this is the place for you.

Woman named patsy called and asked me for a favor at my work, I needed the fax number to send it to her, which seemed to really bother her. Then I wrote down a number wrong, so she gave me 3 random numbers to “fix” the mistake although I’m not sure how or where they go, then talked to me like a dog, and a dumb one at that, I have a doctorate, normally I wouldn’t let such a thing bother me but it’s became too common and this was the 3rd person in the last hour that talked to me so poorly

Can’t get anyone to return my calls and have to wait over an hr to talk to someone. In severe pain and would like to get this taken care of. Guess I will go somewhere else. They make sure tho that ur co pay is paid before they even let u c a dr!!!!! I’m done!!!!!!
