Karina was one of, if not the best physical therapist that helped me throughout my pelvic floor issues. After many years of having dealt with a benign tumor in the my prostate was able to have a TURP procedure done. Following the procedure, Karina helped me understand how my pelvic muscles were inhibited after so much time, and were causing follow on urinating symptoms. She provided me with many helpful tools to help me track and improve my voiding. Given my situation it was a long road. But with her help, it made the journey easier. Symptoms have reduced drastically and I can say after years of dealing with this, I’ve finally found a great relief. Dr. Karina is very attentive, informative, and patient. She goes well above and beyond and couldn’t be more thankful for her help.

I am happy to share my experience & major physical benefits gained after having completed scheduled sessions with Physical Therapist, Karina Ortiz at the VA in Martinez. A few years ago I had an MRI that diagnosed some deterioration in my lower back disc’s that was causing lower back pain. I was assigned to Physical Therapist, Karina Ortiz. Karina applied eloquent results driven solutions to the core of the back pain. She also applied the specific physical therapy exercises to strengthen the core around the problem area to eliminate pain! I am so grateful that she was attentive to detail and results driven. Its been a while since completing my physical therapy sessions with Karina. At 71, I continue doing the physical therapy exercises done in her therapy sessions 2 - 3 times per week. This has been directly effective in strengthening the area around the lower disc’s and eliminating any further disc deterioration or pain. I am now ready to return to World Class Masters Track sprint hurdling! Karina will do well in any Physical Therapy area assigned!! I recommend her without reservations! I am so glad she is now able to help civilians through her own business as well.

Few months ago while undergoing a therapy treatment for my knees, I told my therapist that I need to use the restroom immediately. When I got back to the clinic, he asked me if the urge to urinate is a problem for me. I said yes and it does bother me especially at night when I frequent the bathroom four (4) to five (5) times every night. He then referred me Dr. Karina Ortiz for further evaluation of my case. He advised me that Dr. Ortiz deals with these type of problems especially for women, but the treatment also could benefit men. I am generally a happy person, but waking up several times at night deprives me from having a restful night and this really stresses me out. I didn’t like constantly feeling tired throughout the day. When I met Dr. Ortiz, she fully explained how the exercises work. I was surprised to learn how pelvic floor physical therapy could help me! What was unique about her care was she fully explained to me the structural makeup of my pelvic area and how the muscles and their functions can contribute to resolve my problems. She introduced me to some pelvic floor exercises and methodically guided me through each one. In a couple of weeks the exercises she recommended worked like miracles!!!!! I’m happy to say that I sleep through the night without waking up to pee! On some occasions I only wake up once and very seldom twice. I am so much happier and have enjoyed feeling energized as I travel the world with my wife. I strongly recommend Dr. Ortiz to anyone needing pelvic floor physical therapy!

Dr. Karina is great! She's very knowledgeable when it comes to all things Ortho/pelvic health. She's extremely personable and always goes out of her way to answer any questions. Highly recommend her if you're in need of a physical therapist in the northern Cali area!
