Most people come here because you gotta go through what you gotta go through to get your health back. I sat in chairs with stuff going out and stuff going in for treatment. I sat next to many others over the years in the same situation. It isn't fun but the Doctors, Nurses, and Techs just keep you going somehow until hopefully something works. They also seem to be those " smartest guys in the room" types that know what could work and what is worth a try. I am so very very grateful for the treatment I received here. Now, If we can just get that universal healthcare in our country so treatments aren't followed by all those zeros in the treatment bills.

I mean, who wants to have brain cancer and then make a two plus hour trip one way to another state, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Compared to the other clinical settings I've been in, the Kirklin Clinic is top-notch. COVID has unfortunately done away with the valet parking, but Google lists the parking deck as a separate entity. Routinely spaced throughout all of the facilities are attendants to assist patients and visitors in finding the doctor they are looking for or just to locate a restroom. Sneaky Pete's Restaurant is conveniently located for a quick, tasty bite on the ground floor of the parking deck. My favorite place to hang out is the Starbucks Cafe just as you cross the crosswalk into the main clinic on the second floor. I've been a patient of Dr. Nabors at The Kirklin Clinic for 10 years now, and I've always seen the Kirklin in the cleanest, working order. Unless you just happen to walk into the restroom right after someone made a mess, it's always clean. I don't use public restrooms. I seriously will go hours, but I will go to the restroom here. If you're interested in architecture, it's a beautiful building considering it's downtown Birmingham. It's a beautiful building situated anywhere.

We traveled from another state to seek health care at the Kerklin Clinic of UAB. The pre appointment paper work was completed over the phone and through the patient portal on the UAB website. The morning of our appointment, we arrived on the campus and we could see the parking choices and where we needed to navigate to arrive at our destination. We parked on the 6th floor parking garage and due to the large number of people waiting on the elevators we chose to take the stairs. The second floor connected the parking garage with the clinic. The lobby on the second floor had a sea of people, but it was all manageable to reach our medical department on the 5th floor. The staff was pleasant and they directed me to the right office. I’d recommend the Kerklin Clinic for all your health issues.

Everyone was so patient regarding my mobility problems. There is valet parking. The nurse and doctor were thorough, and made a treatment plan that I could follow. I am going to use them from now on.

My husband had his first appointment at the Kirklin Clinic dept. of Neuroscience. We had a little trepidation because of the size of UAB Medical, and we had to drive 2.5 hours to get there. We shouldn't have worried; the clinic was easy to get to, the parking garage had plenty of spaces, directions to each floor were clear, and the people we spoke to about locations were helpful and friendly. Our medical staff was excellent: professional and personable—more importantly, they listened from the intake nurse to the doctor. We couldn’t be happier with our experience at the Kirklin Clinic and highly recommend it to anyone who needs medical care.

From the time I went in through the doors and left out the doors, I was treated with nothing but respect. I felt like I was home. Having traveled over 5 hrs the day before, for an 8am appointment the next morning, I was a little nervous about my visit and what to expect. My mind was put to ease the minute I arrived. Thank you UAB for making me feel at ease.

Most of the experiences I've had over the past 3 years have been better than I was expecting, especially with the diagnosis I brought, this being a second opinion. I was very grateful that I did seek KIRKLIN CLINIC as a second opinion and I have grown to appreciate the Doctor's, nurse's, technician's everyone I come into contact with at TKC.

Dr. Clarissa Thomas is the best of the best at facial reconstruction. I lost ny entire right cheek and most of my upper lip to a flesh eating bacterial infection. She has been able to do what no one else could or would even attempt to do in the last three years and I have seen doctors and surgeons throughout Alabama as well as the Cleveland Clinic in Miami. I highly recommend Dr. Thomas and the staff at the Kirkland Clinic of UAB.
