Dr McCarthy performed basil cell arthritis surgery on my thumb Sept 2021. It never worked. New doctors I have seen say the thumb has collapsed. There is a very complex surgery, with no assurance that it would help, and they don’t recommend it. I am in pain most of the time with no hope that this will get better. I do not recommend Dr MccCarthy. Susan Sherwin

There is simply no better hand doc than Dr. Ashmead - anywhere! I actually had another well known hand surgeon refer me specifically to Dr. Ashmead when he could not quite diagnose a hidden bone fragment issue. Dr. Ashmead nailed it. Another time, a surgeon in the ER butchered a finger I destroyed on a table saw, and once again, Dr. Ashmead came through! Listen: The hand itself is just SO complex that you don't want anyone but the best working on yours. Trust me, he is the best!

The building is impressive and very easy to navigate. Staff were extremely friendly, starting with the young man who took my temperature off the elevator. Cindy at the check-in was extremely patient with me while I completed my tablet checking in process. She even called me and brought my driver's license to me as I was leaving the parking garage! ( Way above expectations) I am a self paid patient, so even Christine? in billing provided very useful help in how that process worked. Dr. Ashmead was very professional and I was pleased by his evluation and explanation on the uses with my hands and wrist!

I’ve been a patient of Chris Dillon for a while now, and called to get an appointment the day prior. The staff were amazing in finding me a next day appointment for an issue with my elbow. The day of the appointment, I was running late at another doctor, and called to let them know. They were understanding and actually moved my appointment to the Hartford office where I already was, for a slightly later time! Mr. Dillon was thorough in listening to my issues, and examining my elbow. Sent me for an X-ray in office to make sure there wasn’t more of an issue. He then was able to give me a cortisone shot into my injured elbow which we could immediately tell hit the affected area. Not even 24 hours later, the pain has been reduced to a fraction of what it was. This was just another appointment for multiple ongoing issues that I have had with my hands to lower arms, and every time I see Mr. Dillon he is always just as thorough, and concerned. I have recommended and will continue to recommend Mr. Dillon to anyone who has hand or sports injuries. He truly is the best at what he does!

Dr. Ashmead and his Hartford office staff are all very friendly and answered my questions. Dr. Ashmead listened to my concerns and he clearly explained my options for treatment and how to make a successful recovery. The physical therapy staff was knowledgeable and friendly as well. Thank you!!!

It was a pleasure working with Dr. Ashmead to explore the possibility of a knuckle replacement. He was compassionate, patient and thorough in explaining the procedure and the risks involved in this procedure. He also offered to help me find a provider closer to my home in New Mexico - possibly in the Phoenix area. I am most grateful for his help.
