I went to this facility when I was 21 years old. At that time, HBO was making a documentary about heroin addicts mainly, and it was called Rehab. So they picked me. I didn't even get to stay the entire 28 days because of insurance so HBO took me and a couple others and filmed us at the bottom going downhill more and more. They totally took advantage of us 5 young adults. We were all pretty much kids. This treatment center got 1 million dollars as a donation to allow us to be removed and placed in sober living for a week and then we were on our own. I never got clean here. I never learned anything. All the director cared about was putting on a show for the film crew. It was disgusting. And when I was back on the streets selling my self for heroin the film crew would drop money on the ground since they couldn't hand it to us just to get us wrll to film their next shot, waking up at the beach sick in the car, standing downtown homeless, what ever they wanted. This facility allowed us to be manipulated and convinced to take part in something they were going to bank off of. What's crazy is I was looking for treatments for my husband to go to and they wouldn't even sponsor him even after I said who I wS and what I went through. They are all about the money. The I surface will never cover the entire stay and that's how they scam profits that are in cash. It's a pretty place for sure in the santa cruz mountains, but in reality it's a bad place if you only knew what kind of people were running it. So my advice to you look elsewhere and don't go anywhere that is letting a film crew create a doc based on young adults who don't know a thing about sobriety, because it's all a facad. Yea so that's to add to the other reviews about the profit they are seeking. They ruined our chances at that age for 1 million dollars and some lime light on a Oscar winning producers documentary it should have been called manipulating young addicts for profit. Way to go Camp Recovery. You made your self famous didn't you.

If your serious about your recovery don't come here. Several campers who have been here 60+ days along with staff members supply drugs and at night it's very easy to doordash in booze .Noone says anything about it . My roommate was always on coke to the point it was obvious , he walked around in sun glasses even inside to hid his eyes and was even caught doordashing in boozebut is still there currently. Noone checks you or tests you ever because noone cared they were making money off it . If you want a serious recovery center that cares about you this is not the place instead I highly recommend azure acres

Will have life long trauma from this place. I was there 3 years ago as an adolescent but the recent lawsuit prompted me to write a review. Don’t send your kid here, there are better ways.

I sent my son to The Camp for what was supposed to be a 30 day program. For the most part he had a good experience. What was frustrating was they were short staffed so they couldn’t do many of the outings that they had advertised as part of the recovery program, and then on the weekend we were headed down to pick him up, someone called and said there was an incident and he would be administrative discharge which would have affected his court probation. Turns out the other client made everything up and my son was not at fault at all, he got a certificate of completion but not even so much as an apology from the rude counselor that called stressed me out. He was discharged after 23 days and for the last month I have been trying to reach financial services for a refund of the extra days I paid for, but no one will call me back. They sure answered when I owed them money though. The other thing is it’s a very liberal camp, so if you’re conservative at all, don’t bother, they housed my son with a trans gender who switched back and forth whenever, and expected my son to know how to deal with that. Very frustrated with how our experience ended.

This is the second time I have been to The Camp; the reason being that it is such a wonderful place for rehabilitation. From the clients to the care and effort the staff puts in to you to create an environment that is conducive to being clean. It almost doesn’t feel like rehab, but more like a camping retreat. I am more than satisfied with the program they run; they truly care about your well-being and recovery journey. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is willing to improve their life , with the disease that we carry.

Getting sent here back when I was a dumb teen changed my life. Barely any talk about drugs too, they really get to the root of your problem. Shout out to Jason!
