The Abby Pavilion Healthcare Center of Anaheim

My father-in-law was a patient at this healthcare center. The quality of care he received was sub par to say the least. Listed below are the issues we encountered: 1. Inability to communicate with English speaking patients and family members. The staff consists of almost entirely spanish-only speaking nurses. 2. Lack of cleanliness. The patients were often left in feces filled diapers for hours on end. The stench was so bad that it infiltrated the entire facility. 3. Lost personal items. We were required to bring clothing for my father-in-law, which I completely understand. What I don't understand is how they lost more than half of his clothes! We did all the laundry and yet they still lost his clothes. 4. Lack of communication in general. Having a loved one who suffered a traumatic injury is bad enough. Not knowing is even worse. The positive note for this facility is the physical therapy practitioners. They did an outstanding job. thank you!

Our father was prescribed medication that he did not need, was not diagnosed with, without our knowledge or permission. Almost two weeks into his stay at a rehab facility where he has been given no rehabilitation. Im disgusted at the lack of care, communication & disregard for his needs. He has unexplained bruises. His wallet & personal items are missing. We have reported elderly abuse to the state & fraud to insurance companies. I wouldn't allow these people to care for my dog let alone a loved one. They have changed their name to Windsor Manor probably to ensure they can continue to operate due to all the reports of abuse, mistreatment & poor care they provide. They are a dump facility. Come for a short term stay to be dumped into their long term facility where theyll try to take your loved ones social security & pension. A class action suit should be lodged against this facility!

I honestly did not want to even rate this place to even give it one star. The Abbey Pavilion deserves no stars at all. I have more than 10 complaints on this facility. The staff of nurses and assistance need training badly. They don't know how to move and care for patients. They are unprofessional and to make matters worse the director of nursing is unheard of. She should not be the director of nursing anywhere. She's horrible with a horrible personality. She tried to call my fiancé out for something my fiancé did not even do just because we were in an argument with her. My fiancé stopped her dead on her track. Then my fiancé had to tell her to ready much shut up when she came and started trouble with me. On another incident one male nurse recorded he gave me medicine when I wasn't even in the building at the time he noted he gave me this medicine. Even after my fiancé confronted this person, he still lied straight to her face, yet other employees say there's no way he did not go in and log the date and time himself because he has to use his own user and password in order to do so. Also, I was there over a week and a half before they finally found the right size wheelchair for me. Many times we asked for a bigger wheelchair and expressed our concern about the blister, but all we got was a band-aid to put over it and a little cleaning of the sore. It took us almost two weeks before I finally got the right size wheelchair that all along was sitting just right outside the building. In the meantime I had a big blister sitting in this too small of a wheelchair. I was injured several times there due to carelessness and the fact that the staff did not know how to move me and care for me; nor did they know how to use their machines and tools. And they even lie when telling there side of the story. This place is dirty and always stinks of poo and urine. ALWAYS. And there are cockroaches here. When my fiancé pointed out the dead cockroach she killed, the nursing assistant's response was "there's tons of food in here". My fiancé got up and looked around and open the drawers and pointed out that there was not even a single food item in the room at that time; although we usually do have a lot of food, we throw any open items in the trash, and Michael fiancé is constantly wiping down the tables and cleaning up after ourselves. This place did not have wipes available so my fiancé had to bring in her own Clorox wipes to wipe things down; however, the trash doesn't get emptied unless we call someone to empty it. There are two or three of the nurses there that are very nice and professional and did their best to care for me. I can't say so much for the rest of the staff . Not only that, I witnessed a male staff there who did horrible things to a male resident. I will be filing a complaint to the state of California also.

I believe a little has changed since a prior visit in which they would have received a four star rating and not a five merely from some ascetic issues, such as paint and lack of usable patio furniture. Unfortunately, the atmosphere of the place was geared towards control and using lies making residents comply with their wants. Forget about what the clients want or is committing their need is. For example, when one is in pain and asked for his Percocet, the proper response is not I put your pain medication in there and when you ask what that is, they reply ibuprofen. The request was for a Percocet. Another quick example and then I will step down off my soap box. When someone request an out pass to tend to personal ventures and ask for a Dr's approval the present nurse in question makes a presumption the Dr will not be granting any pass. It is as if the nurse had decided before asking the Dr. Enough, I bailed AMA without my medicine as a result of their disrespect and disregard for my needs. They completely mistrusted me and spawned many lies attempting to cohere me to their demands when I would of willingly done so on a whim genuine demand made for a truthful reason.

My boyfriend is there and they treat him so Good making sure hes Fed and taking his meds on time what else can I ask !

I've had a very good experience with the Abby. They've been very caring and accommodating with my loved one.
