I have always struggled with my mental health my whole life and being admitted to talas really helped so much more than I ever thought was possible. The staff members all seem to care about everyone, but I want to give a special thanks to Emily. She helped encourage me to reach out to family and it ended up being such a good thing for me and I wouldn't have done it without her help. Thank you and I appreciate everyone who works there so much !!!

When I arrived at this facility, I was an actual mess. I had overdosed and had been depressed for years. I had no hope and no joy. The Talas Harbor staff turned that around. I want to give a shout out to E.J, Arian, Cory, and Emily! they are such wonderful, professional behavioral health technicians. They need and should be recognized for the wonderful, consistent care that they gave me. The compassion and the empathy that they showed was unmatchable by anything I’ve ever experienced. They are so humble and openly share their story, so that others can feel like they’re not alone. The four of them will be in my heart forever. I cannot even say how grateful I am to them! I love you four so much and Talas Harbor should give you all a raise :) My healing started when Billy gave me a ride there to the facility. My journey at Tallas harbor ended with a ride home by E.J and Tim. E.J, Tim and Billy shared their stories in such a humble matter, and made me feel accepted and warm. Cory is an angel that was on my shoulder, as well as Arian and Emily. Without Cory, Emily, and E.J, and Arian, I’m not sure I would’ve had the experience that I did. They treated me with the utmost respect! Thank you Jeffery and MyJay for your love and compassion! Nurse Carol is a beautiful soul and was always there When I would wake up in the night scared from night terrors and cramps in my legs. Nurse Carol and Bht Jerry were the first people I met upon entering the facility. They made me feel welcomed and cared for. Trey (Mr. T) , Nurse Carol, nurse Michelle, nurse Eltsy , and nurse Cheri were all so amazing , compassionate, empathetic, and wonderful to me. Almost All of the nurses had the patience of a saint. I want to give a shout out to nurse Donna, Michelle and Carol for their r patience with me at night when I would get up, always with cramps and feeling scared. Thank you Wayne for always being available we needed and for having such a wonderful insight into how I was learning to use medication appropriately. Jen and stormy were so good to me. I would not have stayed at the facility if it wasn’t for those two women who wrap their arms around me and let me know that they would not let me fall through the cracks of the system. They worked tirelessly to help me get what I needed as far as resources for drug and alcohol treatment. They are amazing women and need to be recognized as such. Stephanie is going to make an amazing social worker, she facilitated informative and helpful groups and made everyone feel respected and let everyone join in. Thank you stormy and Jen and Stephanie for everything you have done. I will remember you three forever .. I hope I’m not forgetting anybody and if I have, please forgive me. I will never wait so long again before I reach for help. Talas harbor staff treated me so well and helped me heal so much! If I ever get even half as bad as I was, I will reach out for help knowing that I will be cared for and get the treatment that I needed with integrity and respect. I am truly impressed. The only thing I can say that needs help is the food could be more nutritious and the delivery of milk and bread and other items needs to be consistent! Thank you so much Talas Harbor staff! I will always remember you and love you all for everything you’ve done for me and intern my family.

The staff were wonderful and made the process so much easier and even enjoyable. Corey, Emily, and Stormie (among others who's names I forget) were wonderful. They were so helpful and caring! I really enjoyed yoga and group was extremely helpful. My only complaint is the intake and discharge process taking a while and issues getting prescriptions sent after discharge. Overall it was an incredibly productive and positive experience.

On day 3 without the heart medicine that has raised my EF from 30% to 50% nurse Donna gleefully stated "Maybe I'll give you your meds maybe I won't" On day 4 without my heart medicine I ask Carlos for the titration schedule for Metoprolol and Valsartan as by this time I had effectively quit both cold turkey, Carlos replied "I'm not playing that". About 20 minutes later when I was concerned about the ever increasing chest pain I ask to have my blood pressure checked. Carlos said "No I took your vitals a couple of hours ago" Nurse Aaron decided my 9 minutes phone call was too long and threatened to disconnect my call to Blue Cross/Blue Shield despite the fact that the call previous lasted over 20 minutes and the call after mine was over 40 minutes. In 7 days I was the only one who was threatened with a disconnect. Finally on day 5 I got my heart medicine.... I went here for anxiety and depression, how do you think I did? How do you think I feel as I type this? They didn't call the pharmacy for the meds the shrink put me on. I dried myself with bed sheets as they had no towels, The only soap available was shampoo and the soap dispenser next to my sink was broken. The employees spend their nights watching YouTube videos that fill the facility with echoing whispers, even with ear plugs you can still hear that maddening sound. Had one group in 7 days that didn't involve coloring in coloring books and for that all we did was say why we were there. I am so angry.

The employee Emily that oversaw our groups was sweet, on point, shared honestly about her own experiences. She made us feel safe and gave us great advice and “food for thought “ Emily is a huge part of the staff that is beyond valuable…she is a gem🥰

The staff at Talas Harbor was outstanding, kind, patient and also available to assist in all my needs. Dr Scott is just incredible and I appreciated his down to earth and willingness to talk about anything besides the issue of why I was there. Even all the other patients were there for some type of help and the group meetings were an excellent time to realize other people have the same type of struggles and it was easy to open up and discuss and not be judged. Thank-you Talas Harbor and staff for what started as a bad experience and turned into a positive and hopefully life changing experience.
