Sun West Choice is by far the best facility in the valley. The staff is caring, compassionate, and always going above and beyond. If you have not stopped by to check out their newly renovated skill side, you’re definitely missing out. They are top-tier. The physical therapy Team rocks I’m so happy to be a part of Sun West Choice nursing team

Horrible facility and would not recommend to any one! My dad had a total knee replacement and was in the facility for 8 weeks and his overall health got worse. The staff does not communicate with us to any of our concerns and the food was disgusting for my Dad and gave him continual stomach problems. Stay away from this facility, there are better ones out there where my Dad is to get better not worse!!!

This may be a long review…… I’m still trying to wrap my head around what actually happened to our loved one at this horrible facility! Our loved one can no longer get up freely and use the bathroom. Yes he is at the final month or so of his life. We have visited him several times only to find him covered in his own poop…. I’m talking down to his feet totally dried. He obviously he has been that was way for quite some time. He said he called for a nurse and nobody came. We found him like this on 3 times out of the first 5 times there. This is so inhumane it makes me sick!!!! They were giving him food that he should not be eating and that was making him even more sick. Sun choice was made aware of his dietary restrictions but continued giving him the wrong food. I must add the nurses put the call button way out of reach so there was no way he could reach it…. That was the second week in. There is so much more I could write… the smell of the place although it’s gotten better but still not good. You ask why is he there … because it was the only place the had a bed available… definitely not our top choices but we were desperate to get him to a facility. We were assured this is the right place for his needs by the staff. Please please avoid this horrible place if at all possible… side note after talking with the higher ups we were assured that this would never happen again and they were apologetic to us… well guess what …happened again!!!The lack of training and management is unbelievable no one takes accountability and they just say that is aon’t happen again… we have pictures and we have documentation of everything! This place should be ashamed of how they care for their patients. Please please avoid Sun Choice West at all costs!! They really should be closed down until they are able to give proper care. They haven’t heard the last of this and that for sure. UPDATE: Part 2: we received a call from the head nurse 2 weeks after our original complaint! I gave her an ear full and said he will be taken care of and checked more frequently from now on… She had no idea he had passed days before…. This place should not be ashamed of themselves…

One of the most difficult decisions in life is where to place an aging family member once you cannot take care of them at home. Our family found Sun West Choice through a list the VA provided, as my dad is a veteran. From our first interaction with admissions, to meeting his case worker, Cindy, the CNAs, and other wonderful staff we have interacted with, they have made this transition for my dad just a little bit easier. This entire staff genuinely cares about all their residents in the facility, and I have noticed that they call all of them by name. There is always a staff member available to answer questions and if they do not know the answer, then they find someone who does. There are plenty of activities for their residents to participate in so they are not just sitting in their room all day long and if they are in their room, then they will always take a few minutes to sit with someone and have a chat with them. I would highly recommend considering this facility for your loved one when you want to ensure they are being properly loved and cared for just like they would be at home.

DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT send your loved ones to this facility. I never write reviews, but this is necessary to help others. My grandma was there for barely two weeks after leaving the hospital with a positive mindset and ready for physical therapy. She started to decline quickly within that short amount of time that we had to remove her and send her to the hospital. Don't get me wrong some of the nurses were sweet. However, we went to visit her over this recent weekend and found her shaky, incoherent, almost falling off her bed and covered in juice, which spilled all over her bed and the floor. Where were the nurses when they should have been checking on her??? Additionally, a nurse named Judy was supposed to be her "head nurse" and in the previous times I was there, she barely checked on her and sometimes took almost 10 hours to give her Tylenol and anytime we asked for something she acted bothered and rude. Another nurse was concerned and ordered "stat" bloodwork for her at 6am, which we were told would take 4 hours. When the results finally came, which was well more than 4 hours, we were told by the same nurse Judy that they were "normal," which was a LIE. We found out when we demanded to take her to the hospital the very next day that her white blood cell count was elevated and not communicated to our family since we were told everything was "fine." My grandma also had infections that went untreated along with bed sores. This same nurse also said her oxygen level at 93 was normal, and there is no cause for concern until it gets to 88. Like WTH! This same nurse was also taking her blood pressure using a machine and said "this can't be right" even though it was just fine for her neighbor so she decided to do it manually with her back towards us and said she was fine. The same nurse who barely checked on her previously was in the room a lot that day. There is a lot more to say, but complaints will be filed. If you care about your loved ones, do not send them here. If I could give 0 or negative stars, I would.

My Father was recently at this facility. I would not consider care as a word I would use to describe this place. The lack of communication is horrendous. To actually reach an individual besides the receptionist to address your concerns about your loved one, let's just say alot of calls go unanswered or fall on deaf ears. Nurses included. The rooms are cluttered and the place smells of a dirty mop. People in wheel chairs yelling out for help. If you care about your loved one,do your research diligently. Find a better place that addresses issues.I feel they just wanted my Father to pass away. Overmedicated and incoherent he was. I honestly don't believe any of the positive reviews. Any thing looks good on paper. This institution is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
