OK, let me just say i I don’t make a first good impression Myself! my first impression of this place wasn’t good but now that I’m come and spent all day here these people are fantastic. Jennifer and the 2 Melissas e worked theirbutt off and put up with a lot of stuff that i couldn’t handle . I believe. , it’s a friendly, clean closely knit style, Community oriented center. my aunt his everything she needs plus some! My aunt she forgets what she’s taking and what she had and she has an anxiety attack so as well, but everything seems OK and the ladies talk to me and help me out assure me that everything will be fine and has been fine now this place is great for being in ysuch a small town. It’s really really really cool if I have to go To a skilled nirse cenrter i would gladly come! e! putting up with my aunt I know this is their job and they used to it. They know better than me. They have to stay and I need to leave. God bless them all. !❤️🤗

Summit Care in San Augustine is an amazing facility! They have a full time respiratory therapist for trach and vented residents and the staff is very knowledgeable! They are attentive to their long-term and skilled patients needs to make sure that they have the best experience possible. If you are looking for a facility for you or a loved one, go and take a tour of the facility, talk to some of the staff, have conversations with the residents that are there!

I have loads of experience with this facility because my dad is their longest living resident, he has been in their care, kept alive and vital in this facility for over a decade. His needs have been met and his concerns have been addressed and although the facility is not perfect it is GREAT overall, the admin & staff work hard to maintain the facility and the health of the residents. I am thankful to God for the care they have extended to my dad, and their kindness towards me.

I was very hesitant due to very bad past experiences with a nursing home but summit has exceeded my expectations. They have been amazing in every way. My mother has been well taken care for and everyone has been extremely nice and compassionate!

The CNAs and Nurses were very polite. My mom was in great spirits, she was clean, and although I was done wrong by administrative staff, my mom was good! Long as she's good..im great. Ohh and i didn't look at any paperwork as they say i did last time. It's a shame that im gone but still being spoken on. News travel by word of mouth. Negative and positive. God bless those lost souls.

Summit epitomizes what nursing care should be. I placed my friend in their care three months ago after stays in other nursing facilities in the East Texas area. Let me assure you this place is the best. He is clean (they cut his hair, dress him, and keep him shaved). He loves the home-cooked meals they serve three times daily, and he raves about the home-made ice cream, along with the many social activities. His medications are given on time, and they even provide transportation to dialysis which is local. Because of their care, he is in better health than he has been in almost two years. Carrie, Director, and Sandy, Business Manager, are always pleasant and take time to visit with you, updating you on the patient's status. Sending him here has been God's blessing. I am so happy with this placement where patients are treated with dignity and truly loved. Thank you for taking care of my friend.

Update: They sent me to collections. I explained to the collector what had happened and they are now being investigated. By them selling a bill to them, that I never agreed to, telling the company that I did..is fraud. Have fun with that. Edited to have 1 star since they are still harassing me** the only reason they get 2 stars is because at least the nurses were kind. The billing department is a whole nother story though. My "mom" passed away from several infections she aquired while at this facility. I called to let them know of her passing. A few days later, I got a letter which I thought was a sympathy card. It wasn't. It was a bill for the charges she incurred while in ICU. When she was admitted to summit, Sandy sent me a package to accept financial responsibility, that I Did not sign. I explained that I had grown up in foster care and was adopted, so I had no legal connection to my biological mom. She said it was fine, they were charging her insurance and I wouldn't be held responsible. Again, I did not sign, or even send back the packet since they wanted me to sign with every other space blank. Today I got another letter, from their in house attorney, threatening me this time, that if I don't pay her fees, that should be covered by her insurance and veteran's benefits, they will take me to court and I will accrue more debt. Maybe I should find my own lawyer and see what they think of my mom dying from MRSA from their facility. Very poor experience
