If you can avoid this place you’ll be better off. Nobody there has a clue as to what you’re supposed to do. I was sent here for a head injury and my head hurts more after 1.5 visits than it did before. 1 person starts you on an exercise, then a different person puts on a different one, and do on. The problem is they don’t know what exercises you’ve done and ask you what you’re supposed to do next (I’m not a trained professional so how am I supposed to know). There is a huge language barrier making communication difficult at best so you end up repeating exercises and or doing exercises that might not be what you needed. Also the staff doesn’t know what you’re there for even after telling them (they asked me on day 2 what my injury was and after telling they I had a head injury and looking at their clipboard they asked if I had neck surgery). Let’s not forget that I told them due to an arm injury/surgery in past I couldn’t do all the exercises as fast as they were making me do them but that was lost in the communication.

This facility had a lot wrong with it. Besides the fact it was not well maintained (see photo) I had a terrible experience and have never left a provider more frustrated. I sustained an injury to my hip while boxing several months ago and had gone to a physical therapist and would go back every now and then to get adjusted to keep flare ups to a minimum. I moved to San Jose for a summer job and found this place. I called and set up and appointment and explained to them what I needed from this appointment before even coming. I get there and I wait 30 mins to see the doctor and then he comes in and I explain to him what’s going on. He tells me that my MD AND physical therapist were both wrong about what was going on (he didn’t even examine my hip before saying this) and that the pain would go away if I remained active and kept doing strength training. I explained to him I had already been doing those things and the pain was only increased by those activities causing me to have pain while walking, sitting or even laying down. He said that my pain wasn’t an issue for him and that I should just do what he said. Let me add this little gem- both him and the assistant double checked my weight and he asked how long I have been “carrying this weight” I have been slightly overweight my whole life and am currently in recovery from an eating disorder. He commented on my weight several times and made it clear it was a factor in my hip pain (a bad thing to say to someone in ED recovery). I’m 23 and should not be having to beg to have manageable pain (which previous providers have been capable and happy to provide) that allows me to live an active and healthy lifestyle. Cherry on top is because I’m out of state I had to pay out of pocket (which I was fine with) and they neglected to share with me that it was cash only so I had to run around to find an ATM. I have never felt more talked down to or uncared for than I did here. Shame on you.

I made 8 visits there, 1 hour each and the first 6 visits I never see Therapist there until the seventh because the Therapist left the office at 1PM. After that I came at 8 AM and I met the Therapist, she helps me about 3 minutes at the seventh by showing me how to lean against the wall , raising both hands up, stressing out, the eighth one she treated me for about 5 minutes. After that I decided to quick. I came there for physical treatment, not for using their exercise equipment. It seems to me they ran business as a gym than physical therapy. They made you to use their equipment for full one hour, instead of treatment by Therapist. I give them 2 stars because of 4 very nice workers who worked there. Not recommended.

Dr. Raju Mantena showed care and was very well studied in the science of pain, making this experience very positive for me. I have no long term physical therapy experience besides here, but the nurses and the personal specified care has already improved my life in just three session. They cater each exercise to you and have aftercare to take care of your muscles. I feel welcomed and cared for every time I go. Thank you to all the wonderful nurses and Dr. Raju Mantena for your support and guidance.

I kept being skipped over for a piece of machinery and when I spoke up a man bellowed in Spanish for the remainder of my visit. The next time I came in, the female therapists hurt me so bad, I never thought I'd recover.

The doctor and all the therapists on site are very kind and patient, there is no discrimination and you can tell they want to help each patient get better and stronger from whatever caused us to have to come in.
