I saw Dr. Stephen Paulus at Ortho Arkansas for lower back pain. I am an old man and had suspected that most of my problem might be age related. He was very caring and detailed in his explanation of what I had going on. Very caring that I understood what he was telling me. I would say he was just the kind of Doctor I was hoping to see. Thank You Dr. Paulus.

Dr. Paulus was very detailed in my prognosis, treatment, and options for care. Although, he wasn't the doctor I needed, he sent me to the correct doctor. He was still very detailed and very pleasant!!! Definitely recommend for any sports injuries etc.

Waiting time was very good. Waited no longer than 20 minutes as a walk-in. Got to the problem of with follow up.

I have been seeing Dr. Paulus off and on for about four years now. I like that he takes time to talk to you about your diagnosis and treatment options. I also like that he feels surgery is the absolute last option! He’s informative about your diagnosis and makes you feel like he truly cares about your health. The staff were also great too, especially setting up my MRI so quickly. Thank you for all you do to improve our quality of life!

The physician seemed a bit rushy. I didn’t feel comfortable explaining my back pain to him because it felt like he was blowing off what I was telling him. He told me I probably just need to stretch…he offered me physical therapy first to see if it would help then he told me that I would receive an email from the physical therapist in Jacksonville with the details of the appointments. It’s been two weeks and no email still. I just felt like the doctor really brushed me off

The staff is wonderful. Dr. Stephen Paulus is a kind man who takes his job seriously and actually listens to his patients. The only downside is, if you have horrible insurance coverage you have to go through several painful physical therapy appointments before you can have the tests and procedures recommended by the surgeon.

As i am new patient seeing 2 different specialists I can only say this. They definitely have best interest in mind, but in my OPINION, I feel there needs to be more understanding from the Dr when patients who have undergone multiple surgical procedures in the past, know when something is very wrong. I am very happy with care so far, and pray that they will get me back to where I was prior to injury.
