Be cautious of this Step by Step therapy center at Walnut. The owner does not prioritize the safety of young children and allows potentially violent patients to move freely. My 2-year-old son was randomly attacked by a 10-year-old, 120-pound girl who was out of control. This girl had a known history of aggressive behavior, including hitting her therapist and her own mother, yet the center did not address this with the mother or warn others to stay alert. According to the law, a property owner should take reasonable and foreseeable measures to warn others about potential dangers. However, the center failed to do so. While we were waiting for our appointment, the girl entered the waiting room visibly upset and crying. The moment she saw my son on a toy bike, she started hitting him. My son was stunned and began crying, and I immediately rushed over to protect him. The girl’s mother, who is much smaller than her daughter, struggled to control her, as the girl continued to bang on the walls and windows. I was so startled that I grabbed my son and took him inside the office. I reported the incident to the staff, but they dismissed my concerns, claiming it wasn’t their responsibility because it occurred in the waiting room. They even dismissed us after I asked the mother to intervene, as her daughter’s behavior was clearly out of control. Please protect your children from harm at places where their safety should be a priority. Children deserve to feel safe in spaces designed for their care and well-being and not be assaulted by anyone!
