SSM Health Spine & Pain Management Center

Have been suffering from chronic pain for over 15years. I have been a pain management patient for 6 years and have been able to live a mostly pain-free or comfortable since then. I recently moved and was referred to SSM by my doctor in California. SSM Pain doesn't care about you. They care about making money off you and your insurance company. Since I've already been through all the proceedures and shots they want to give you before they prescribe something to help your pain, they denied treating me. All I need is a prescription. They don't want to waste their time on me, not profitable enough I guess. Horrible people.

I have been going to Dr Lucio for many years . He has always treated me with great respect and he is a very good Pain management Dr. He also has the greatest Staff. So caring for the patients just like Dr Lucio he cares and is very concerned with the patients . I Recommend Dr Lucio .

I waited for over an hour to see Dr. Lehman. Then I waited another thirty minutes in the office. The nurse checked my reflexes and asked about my back and neck. She said we are going to get an X-ray of your back and neck. Then left. They did the X-ray pretty fast which was nice. Then Dr Lehman came in another 30 minutes later said my back wasn’t operable. He said this is what happens when you get old. Mind you I’m 41. I didn’t know that 41 was old. Then he said your range of motion is fine, he didn’t lay a hand on me at all!!! How does he know? All they did was a reflex test. I started to talk and he cut me off and said I don’t need you to talk only answer my questions. Then he said I’m sending you to pain management and left the room. He was in there for 5 minutes. After I spent two hours there, I saw the doctor for 5 minutes and the only thing he said was I was old. Then pain management never called. After two weeks of horrible pain, not being able to sleep! I can’t sit or stand. I can’t bend over, I can’t stoop down, I can’t sit over ten minutes but Dr Lehman wouldn’t know that because he didn’t even do an evaluation on me. He didn’t even examine me. After waiting two weeks and pain management never called, I finally went to Columbia Orthopedic Group and saw Dr. Jenkins. My experience was night and day different. Dr. Jenkins is wonderful! He knew by looking at my MRI AND X-RAY (same one that dr Lehman looked at) that I was in bad shape. He asked me questions, he wanted to know all about my history. He wanted to know what doctor I had seen and who referred me. He wanted to know what medication I was taking. When he found out I have been sick since I was 11 years old he was deeply sympathetic with me! He really cared about me. He made sure I received care that day! He spent 20 to 30 minutes with me in the office. He did send me to pain management and I had an appointment that day. He gave me a diagnosis and explained what he saw in the mri and the X-rays. He also set up a treatment plan moving forward. By the way I only waited four days for an appointment. When I saw Dr. Lehman there was no treatment plan and I wasn’t allowed to talk and he didn’t ask me any questions so not much was said. Like I said my diagnosis was, this is what happens when you get old. And that was it! But I’m only 41 and not many 41 year olds have bulging disc, deterioration in a disc, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, bursitis in your back and hips which is what I was diagnosed by the other doctor and Dr. Newton the pain management doctor! I also was diagnosed with the same thing from my family doctor and my Chiropractor and yet Dr. Lehman’s only response was this is what happens when you get old.

I've been suffering from chronic back pain for over a year. In the last few months it had gotten to point where I could barely walk. I had tried physical therapy and chiropractic and even had been to another pain management specialist. Dr Nathan Kenyon changed all that in the very first treatment. I went from barely able to stand or walk one day to being almost pain free the day after the treatment. I can't express my gratitude enough. Dr Kenyon truly cares about his patients. His staff is also truly amazing. Very friendly and attentive to my needs. They made me feel very comfortable.

I don’t write many reviews but I feel both of the doctors I seen deserve all the credit they can get. I’m 35 years old female and I was suffering from a pinched nerve it was going down my back and my left leg into my foot for 7 months. I was in constant pain everyday. I could hardly walk, sleep, sit, climb stairs or do anything. I kept thinking it would eventually go away on it’s own but it kept getting worse. It was the worst pain I ever experienced. I went to a doctor in my small town and there wasn’t much they could do but send me everywhere else. So I got a referral to go to SSM health to see Dr. Lehman he was a great Dr. he reviewed my MRI & told me what needed to be done. I told him I would rather try the lumbar epidural steroid injection instead of surgery. He agreed we could try that and referred me to pain management to see Dr. Kenyon. I got my appointment set up and later went back to see Dr. Kenyon he went over everything with me and gave me the lumbar epidural steroid injection the same day. I feel great now! I can sleep and walk again. I’m no longer in pain at all so far. They are both really great Doctors and the staff is great too they was all very kind and caring. I will choose to go to them if this ever happens to me again. 5 stars for all of them! I highly recommended them!

I was a patient of Dr Rodgers for about 20 years. He recommended Dr Lehman. My spine problems are organic, not from injuries. So when I was injured in a car accident, I called Spine and Pain Management. They got me in to see Dr Lehman the very next day. Wonderful! Dr Lehman was polite and took great care to inspect my injuries by ordering a CT scan and MRI after reviewing the x-rays he'd ordered. That was the last contact I had with Dr Lehman. I think he is a good physician from what I've experienced. However, when I was given results from my x-rays, MRI and CT scans I was given two totally different diagnoses. Dr Lehman also told me that he would see if my injury was caused by the car accident I was in three days prior to my visit. When his PA called he said I had a fractured vertebrae and it could be surgically repaired. When I called for clarification if it was most likely from the car accident, the person who called me back told me there was no fracture, I didn't need surgery, it would heal on it's own. I wasn't given Dr Lehman' s opinion on the likely cause of my injury until they said I could no longer be their patient. Additionally, the PA saw I was wearing crocs and informed me they had latex in them. So there was no way I had a latex allergy. I also called to make sure my chart reflected my latex allergy. My contacts with the office and this review is to insure no other patients are treated so poorly by the staff.

Worse place ever. I loved them for the first 3 yrs then they have new people running it and hope you get there 5 mins late so that they have more time with other patients!!! They are over booking just like the airports. So anyway I'm A Disabled Marine an they refused to help me even though I told them I feel and needed to see the doc. They told me leave and I kept begging them to please find away to help they refused and told me to leave and called there security up and I told them I would leave but but told them do not put hands on me because I'm injured and they kept threatening me so finally I stood up and one guard grabbed me by the arm and man handled me almost thrown me to the ground ground because of my injury. None the less I left hurting by the guard in more pain and having a panic attack because I have PTSD on top of my back and knee injuries. I'm not a dope head looking mess I barely take anything I just wanted relief for my hips and back !!! They called the police and the officer he told me i had the rt to record them. I recored everything on my cellphone and have proof of what im say is true. Anyway the police officer said I could press charges but if I do that both of us probably would go to jail. What is a person to do!!! I WENT TO URGENT CARE AND HAD MY ARE X-ray and had deep tissue bruising in my rt arm. They would not X-ray my hip and back. It's because they part of the same went to a different one like Boone hospital system. So now im looking for this. Be warned.

Staff are always professional and friendly. And Dr. Lucio was the only pain management Dr that understand what kind of pain I was in and the severity of it. I have a chronic debilitating disease that needed around the clock management and I finally found some relief thanks to him.
