SmallTalk Pediatric Therapy

We’ve been working with Small Talk, and Geethu has been an incredible speech therapist for our son. His speech has improved so much since starting therapy. Geethu’s sessions are fun, and she always gives us helpful prompts to practice at home as his speech evolves. The team at Small Talk is great at supporting us beyond the sessions. We keep visual aids, like the one on our fridge, to remind us how to reinforce what he’s learning. We’re so grateful for their personalized approach and would highly recommend them to anyone!

They are amazing!! They have been very flexible with our schedule, Ali has been amazing on rescheduling us and finding something that works for our schedule. The feed back after my son's session is good, his speech therapists let us know how he is doing and how we can help out from home. 10/10 recommend.

Knowing what I know now, I would not have wasted my time or copays. The two therapists we were assigned to for speech were more concerned with their own comfort and ease during the sessions vs focusing on what is best for the patient. No collaboration or parent engagement so we could take what we learned in session and apply at home throughout the week. They also insisted on taking my child back alone which I expressed that he won’t do well because he needs additional support due to his diagnosis. So mid session he shut down and no progress was made. If you want a therapist that cares about your child being comfortable and able to actually make progress then this is not the place from our experience. Editing to add: the owner replied asking me to reach out…I emailed about a week before posting this review, received no reply and called a few days before and spoke with a receptionist who was great and I briefly explained we won’t be returning to their clinic for further appointments…no one bothered to call to inquire or ask why.

My son has been coming here for over a year now and his progress has noticeable improvements. he is always excited to go see his therapist. twice a week with geethu and Nichole and it’s always a pleasure to speak to Natalie who helps with my schedule when life throw me curve balls.

Our family relocated from Guam to San Diego in 2023, in pursuit of better services for our youngest child Liana, who is on the Spectrum and is significantly delayed cognitively and motor skills wise. She has been receiving ST and OT from Small Talk Pediatric Therapy in El Cajon for the last six months. Liana gets excited to see Ms. Nathalie-Rose and Ms. Jamie. Up until last year, we helped Liana with everything: hygiene, toileting, showering, dressing, etc. This year, Liana gets dressed on her own and is adamant about her wardrobe choice. Sometimes things are backwards or inside out, but if she’s ok, so are we. She is developing her own fashion sense. Two years ago, Liana stopped talking. Just today, she said to me, “Get out of my room please”. We are so proud of her. Even though it’s my room, I got out anyways. Thank you Ms. Jamie, for all the ‘Getting Dressed’ visual aids and feelings chart. Thank you Ms. Nathalie-Rose for teaching Liana to take turns and for taking the extra time to encourage her when she’s irritable. Thank you both for coming to the car to get Liana when she is struggling. If you didn’t know, they have Angels working at Small Talk in El Cajon.

My son has been coming here for his speech and OT therapies for about 2 years now, the therapists here are amazing and I love that they do child-led activities. My son learned how to drink from an open cup from OT.

We go to SmallTalk for OT (for my son) and Speech (for my daughter.) My kids look forward to their appointments each week. They have made a lot of progress. I am so grateful to Monica and Maddie. Both women are extremely educated and dedicated to helping children. They seem to genuinely love their jobs. They are creative, kind, and so patient. I've learned a lot from them and would recommend SmallTalk to anyone needing services for their children.

Great place for speech therapy. They are nice and professional. The place is always clean and sanitized. Highly recommend. Thank you therapists for helping our kiddos!!
