Our son has worked with several different therapists at Skills on the Hill. With each one of them, it's clear they find joy and fulfillment in the work, and they sure know how to connect with kids and motivate them to work their hardest! I've particularly appreciated how some therapists have communicated notes with each other to ensure our son is making progress. Skills on the Hill always has a welcoming and encouraging environment and we couldn't recommend it more highly!

My two autistic boys (now 8 and 13 years old) have been attending Skills on the Hill for the past couple years and it has been a game changer! My boys worked with therapist for physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. What I like the most about Skills on the Hill is their dedication to helping my boys grow and succeed in their goals, and if something isn’t working, they work with you to find a different way. The office staff is always friendly and supportive with scheduling and they have a nice gym space with lots of cool sensory equipment. Along with their regular therapy services my boys also participated in additional programs they offer. My older son attended their Social Explorers group and has seen success this school year in making friends! Both of my boys recently participated in the Easy Riders bike program and can now, finally, ride their bikes without training wheels! They also have a wonderful summer camp my boys loved! I am so glad to have found this therapy center it has totally changed our lives!

I have worked with Skills on the Hill for twenty years. The clinicians at Skills on the Hill are highly dedicated and passionate for working with children and families. Skills on the Hill are composed clinicians who are able to provide individualized treatment that is personal and tailored to each child and family with whom they work. I have always appreciated the attention given to my patients and the collaboration between the professionals who always follow up when needed. This clinical collaboration has always been insightful and impressive. I would recommend Skills on the Hill to any family who is looking for a group who always puts patients first and who stays highly engaged with parents throughout the treatment process.

Working with SOTH has been a game changer for our family! My son has done both OT therapy and summer camp with this fabulous practice. Originally referred for some developmental delays in fine and gross motor, we began working with SOTH and have been working with them for over a year now. My son has gained key skills that have helped him thrive in school, but most importantly he's gained confidence in himself, an ability to express his feelings, and understand what's going on within his body. I can't speak highly enough of SOTH's approach-individualized care and how they work with families to help caregivers understand their child's unique needs. Through participating in sessions, I've learned how to tune into my son's unique sensory needs, which has built my confidence and efficacy as a caregiver. Therapists are kind, caring, and nurturing through many challenges! I most value their ability to see the beauty, strength, and potential in each child they work with, helping families meet their child where they are. I've also found the support team (scheduling, billing, etc.) to be incredibly responsive, supportive, and efficient. I remain grateful for the support SOTH has provided my family through difficult times.

We have worked in a few different ways with Skills on the Hill over a few years and have always been so grateful for their care and interest in supporting our family. My kiddo has always enjoyed coming to this place. Service providers are all great! Lots of extracurricular and community-building opportunities. I can't recommend it enough.

I highly recommend Skills on the Hill and feel truly lucky to have found them. My daughter has been a patient since October 2023 and currently receives OT, PT, and Speech therapy weekly. From our very first interaction, we have been so impressed with the care and support from the entire team. A few things that stand out: 1) I reached out for an OT evaluation -- after seeing that my daughter was 12 months old and appreciating the importance of early intervention, Kristen, the owner, made time in her schedule to conduct the evaluation as quickly as possible (it was completed less than 2 weeks after my outreach). 2) Having OT, PT and Speech under one roof is invaluable from both a continuity of care and scheduling perspective. All of our providers talk to one another about my daughter -- they share observations, things that have worked well (or not), updates on progress, etc. This level of support, engagement and skill from the team has been tremendous in supporting my daughter's progress on her development goals. I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge Paola's scheduling wizardry -- she is proactive, thoughtful, efficient and so easy to work with. 3) Our providers put so much thought into our sessions -- everyone has made a point to get to know my daughter and our family, which allows them to tailor her sessions based on her motivation, needs, and what's realistic for us at home. Additionally, everyone is so generous with their time to help teach my husband and me -- from sending follow up emails with resources to answering tons of questions and even providing specific language and observations to bring to the various specialists my daughters sees, we have learned so much and feel so supported. We are ultimately able to better support and advocate for my daughter because of Skills on the Hill. It's apparent that everyone is invested in and rooting for my daughter's success -- and their hard work is paying off! My daughter is thriving, making excellent progress on her goals, and will even meet some of them months faster than expected!

Kristin was great at thinking on her feet. She was able to quickly switch activities as needed, or adjust the activity, and meet my child at his level. Her ability to remain calm was impressive. Kristin always read my emails and provided feedback on a weekly basis during the sessions. She provided great resources via email and take-home physical resources at the meetings. We appreciate how she was able to communicate with our school and other providers for our son. She even remembered details about him such as his favorite color.

We're a military family who was referred to Skills on the Hill by our pediatrician when I said that I was seeking a progressive OT approach. Goodness, did he deliver! Our experience with weekly OT sessions and group therapy has been amazing. It's so wonderful to know that my children are working on so many skills while also building confidence, and it's also wonderful to feel heard and so well supported as a parent. Just last week, my son had some struggles over his interpretation of rules at the playground, and when we reminded ourselves of the flexibility strategies he's learning in group therapy, it helped immensely. He's really benefiting from seeing other kids embrace these strategies too. We look forward to using summer camp sessions as well. We're absolutely capitalizing on our kids' development here in the DC area with Skills on the Hill.
