This place is either understaffed or has too many patients to care for to give the patients the care they need .My dad was there for physical rehab to walk and I am beyond disappointed in the care they give their. During his stay he caught covid ,mrsa and scabies. He had to be taken to emergency room for kidney failure and dehydration. He told me he would ask for water and few days he went all day without water! He was vomiting for days and couldn't eat ... No Dr seen him !! they gave him milk of magnesia for the vomiting when he clearly had something medically wrong going on. Spoke to the nurses about it and my daughter called them multiple times to get it addressed.I came in one day to my dad laying in a shirt covered in vomit. Definitely do not recommend putting your loved ones here for care if they are dependent upon staff care. We took my father out of this place

So as a cna who has worked for gateway Post acute, but a wel seasoned hard working one at that, due to being singled out by nurses and administrative staff who no longer work there, whom ever owns the chain business is buying facilities left and right monopolizing these facilities like cellular companies Makin it hard for professional and hard working cna workers to get a job in their own home town. In this recognize that the administrator Mason, who takes it upon himself to only really hire females in order to be a creep and bribe them to work fo hi company. He doesn't realy hire males and he always finds reason to create unnecessary problems making his underlings look insubordinate. He's a dictator. Doesn't care about anyone's livelihood and will make u feel beneath him ad the cause. He favors women as most creeps would. People are afraid to speak up and call him out due to fear of losing their job. Weed out the horrible bosses. Thi isn't disgruntledness. This is truth.

They don’t do their walk arounds to check patients. They left my grandmother unattended for hours and she was trying to get their attention. This place lacks at doing their job. They are not there to help their patients they only worry about a check. I was there 2 nights ago and one of the ladies was mad and yelled out mentioning how “no one does their job around here”. The next night my grandmother gets sent to the hospital because they weren’t giving her her oxygen or attending her. This is peoples families life’s in your hands. YOU GUYS NEED TO TAKE YOUR JOB SERIOUS OR FIND A NEW CAREER. Pathetic place. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. One day out of that Rehab facility and my grandmother has gotten 100 percent more better than what she was doing there. Please listen to what I have to say if you care for your loved ones. Stay safe and prayers to everyone who has family members in facilities. God bless

Had my grandfather here for a week. I Loved how staffing took good care of him during his stay and had everything in order when he arrived at Sierra Valley Rehab Center. Even with family members coming to visit staffing got him up and ready for the visit. Sierra Valley Rehab Center staffing treated my Grandfather and family with respect and kindness and will definitely recommend this facility for your loved ones to be taken care of should it be needed.

My grandmother was placed here when she started declining. Staff treated her with respect and showed compassion. They always made sure she was comfortable and had everything she needed.

My uncle is currently here. Staff treats him horrible & we didn't even want him to come here as my family doesn't live near Porterville. He was forced to go here because it is the Rehabilitation Center SVMC chose. (Plays Favoritism when it comes to SNFs) No one helps any of my family members on understanding what exactly is wrong with my uncle & when it comes to transferring him to a Nursing Facility close to where we live they all play dumb! If you love your family members DO NOT SEND THEM HERE!!!!! There are better facilities with staff that actually care about their patients/family needs/wants nearby. Update to 10/18/21 response from Katherine: Katherine, Since this post my uncle has expired, no thanks to SVRC. The care your facility gives is horrible, not one of your nursing staff cares nor respects the fact that this place is the last home for many of your residents. Not one of your nursing staff has the compassion it takes to work in this field & that is your downfall. At all hours of the day & night your staff continuously plays loud obnoxious music & if the residents state it is too loud your staff simply says "stop complaining & go to bed" or "If it's too loud buy ear plugs".. Not once was my aunt allowed to visit her husband despite vaccine status. Anytime she would call, the staff gave her a bogus excuse as to why he could not speak on the phone, let's not talk about the fact that your staff took his cellular phone away from him. I would like to know where the 5 star review is because clearly as you can see on google, this facility has a 2.8 star review. I will forever advocate to never send any loved ones to your facility. If I were the administrator of this facility I would be ashamed of myself. Have a good day.

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!! Staff is not competent in thier skills. They do not do thier rounds as required. They do not confirm orders in a timely manner. Medical care is on the back burner for staff. My mother passed away in the home and no one in the facility knew until my brother went to visit and found her lifeless. If you love your family DO NOT leave them there.

The staff took good care of my husband when he was here. They were always consistent with his routine and care.
