Zero stars. My father was recently there short term recovering . He "lost" a pair of pants with his credit cards in them . Bunch of thieves who take advantage of those who can't prove it.

Terrible terrible place. Residents hate it. And they treat their staff like they get tons of applications to replace everyone. They don’t care about anything outside of the job especially if you stay late to help other shifts that are short. Don’t send your loved one here. And don’t apply for employed.

My wife was transferred there from Yale on 6/22/19...two days sooner than we expected. The building is very nice...in good condition and clean. The yards are also nice with outdoor patios and wheelchair access. The rooms are homey and spacious. Having been a long time since I've had any experience with nursing homes I would say the staff is adequate count wise...the place has to turn a profit and remain viable...but the staff that works there are all wonderful people and my wife likes them all...which makes me happy. The first time I was able to get her outside to enjoy a beautiful Sunday afternoon I ordered pizza from a local restaurant which delivered. Some friends of ours showed up...the staff brought us pitchers of ice, water, and soda...supplied plates cups and napkins...wonderful. The only downside is a doctor wanted to evaluate my wife and they took her away from us for about 45 minutes...in which time the pizza came. They just wanted a baseline evaluation, which in my opinion should have waited given the circumstances...happiness helps people heal, but they were doing their job properly.

I was there for 10 months initially for a broken hip..The food there stunk,for the most part care was zero unless you were independent The only positive thing about shady knoll was their physical therapy staff until they got rid of the best physical therapist they had. He was the one that made it possible for me to walk again. I would never recommend this place to any family or friends, not even my worst enemy..The supervisors and social workers only look out for themselves not the patients.

My Grandma is at Shady Knoll Health Center and has lost 30lbs. She rings the bell and no one comes to help her. An employee has complained about the patients (" I hate this floor") in front of my grandma. This is the saddest place. I wish my grandma was receiving the type of care she deserves.

You won't find a more caring and motivated therapy staff. The food is good compared to even bigger places we've been. The management are knowledgeable and helpful. In the situation of needing a place for short term care and rehab, this would be a good pick.
