Select Specialty Hospital - Canton

This is the worst place possible. Please do not take your loved one or family member here especially if they are Type 1 diabetic ! I had so many valid complaints that happened with my dad , my family was there everyday to support him and the care he received most days just blew my mind . His chart said he was type 2 diabetic and he got transferred to a new facility stating he was type 2 and so he received food and no insulin because of there constant mistakes. The chief nursing officer met with us once promising us a nurse that was hours late on my dads insulin would never be his caregiver again and than a week later she was. She does not care about the patients there never checked back in on us or cared to show her face in my dad’s room when we were there . All I can say is thank you to Tiffany and Joe for honestly caring and being there for us through that terrible experience. You truly cared about us and my dad and that will be the only positive I take from that facility .

This place is terrible! I am absolutely heartbroken by the care my dad was given. I don’t feel anyone actually cared they were just there for a paycheck. The care he received was horrific medically and physically. Everyone was very undereducated on diabetes. They assumed that everyone was a type 2 or they just didn’t know the difference. He is a type 1 insulin dependent and there were multiple times his insulin was not given or held. Causing him to have blood sugars in the 300-400’s. With multiple things to heal from and an amputation and has not because of blood sugars. His wounds have gotten worse plus some that we were told the whole time he did not have until moving to a new place. We have had someone with him every single day and we’re terrified to leave him alone there. My heart breaks for the people there that do not have someone to fight for them as we did with my dad. We had a meeting with the CNO and nothing was ever resolved. I would not recommend anyone letting a loved one go to this place. Happy he is somewhere to actually get better now. Joe and Tiffany were the only ones who actually cared. Thank you both

My son was in a vehicle accident in Chicago in early August and was transferred to Select in Canton as we live in the New Philadelphia area and wanted to be closer to home for his next step in recovery. Danielle was extremely helpful in helping to get everything approved and arranged for his transport to Canton! She even stopped up to meet us when we got there....so cool and very sweet! The staff was amazing and become a second family to us, as we spent many hours by his side while he was there. They were so helpful and wanted the best for him during his time there. Once it was time to move onto a specialty rehab facility with more aggressive therapy for him, they were so supportive and wished him luck and the best to him during his next step in recovery. I could not have asked for better care for him while he was there. The staff cared for him as if he was a part of their own family during his stay there. Absolutely amazing!!

My husband was admitted to Select Specialty Hospital with multiple health problems. The level of care he has received from the hospital staff has been life changing. They were always available to listen to our concerns and answered our questions and never once made us feel that we were a burden to them. Our whole family will forever be grateful!!

Receive the best care possible at a time and I really really needed it. All the team members were friendly, positive, enthusiastic and supportive. This includes the leadership staff as well. Shout out to all the nurses that took the time to ensure I was getting the best care. Overall the best facility for me to get better and get back to living my life.

Do not send anyone you love to this place. The staff is so rude. I was with my mom for 7 hours one day and the aide did not come in the room at all. Did not turn my bed ridden mom not once. I washed her face and the cloth was brown.

I have been to this facility several times over the past year or two and I have nothing but good things to say. Every nurse and aid that work here have always been friendly accommodating and understanding. Considering I am what's considered a very short term patient the treatment was always the same. I understand that most of the patients here are in much more need of attention than I am. They have more complicated needs than I did. The staff are absolutely fantastic and fabulous to work with. If I could go anywhere I would truly go here for all of my medical needs. Always a truly great experience with the staff and team at Select specialty in Canton Ohio. Know this before you try to get in . They are by doctor referral only. They are a more acute care long term care facility. But they are and always will be my go to facility if I ever need them again. Thank you to everyone there for your help and treatment and understanding.

SELECT SPECIALTY HOSPITAL was a great place to go to heal after having double pneumonia and being intubated.. Everyone was so kind and understanding listened to me cry because i missed my kids. They were so helpful while I was trying to build my strength back from being in a coma they helped get my life back on track. I AM FOREVER THANKFUL
