Select Physical Therapy - Stamford

BEWARE! This place is a scam! I wish I had never gone there. Aside from the 1st session where they did the evaluation and applied useless "therapies", they did less than the bare minimum in subsequent appointments. I wasted several sessions where I would get there and be told to do 10 min on a exercise machine then occasionally told to change to a different exercise - ALL of which I could have done alone at home. The entire time the so called therapist had his face glued to his phone! No manipulation or stretching of the affected area like normal physical therapists do. Completely hands off and uncaring. The vibe of the whole place is also very creepy, but I was in so much pain, I kept trying another session until I was able to finally find a real physical therapy place that could take me as a new patient so I could stop going to Select! Please save your precious and hard to be approved by insurance sessions and go to a real physical therapist. I learned my lesson the hard way!

I have visited this place for my PT for shoulder post surgery when my arm was totally incapacitated but after couple of months of dedicated PT by therapist Pavas, he helped me recover my shoulder back to normal and I’m very pleased with his services and would definitely recommend anyone to see him for any condition. Mike is a great and approachable physical therapist and he has tremendously helped with my right shoulder's rotator cuff injury. Without hesitation, I would rate his service with 5 stars, yet I have had 1-star experience with the billing department plus the front desk receptionist Wes at Select Physical Therapy. Upon checking my insurance details, Wes suggested that each appointment would roughly cost me around $75 and charged me 20% ($15) as the copay. While I expected to receive a $60 bill per visit, I ended up receiving $125 bill per visit, more than twice of the amount as he originally confirmed. And the bill for some of the visits went up to $180 arbitrarily for no good reasons. When I came back to Wes inquiring about the bills, he redirected me to Select's billing department which denied the original "promise" and claimed that what I received was the final amount. It was painful to deal with the back-and-forth's with Select billing and I just wanted to warn you that please be extra careful with the original estimated amount Select provides when you receive the service. If you're confident with your insurance, then I don't foresee any big risks working with Select. Good luck!
