I really can't overstate howdisappointed i am in the brain injury program. I had hesitated for a long time after leaving because i thought it would be awkward to return one day four the driving program if i was honest about how much i hated my time there. Some people get to use the driving simulator as part of the brain injury program, but i didn't meet some of their unquantifiable standards so now if i ever want to do this i will have to pay hundreds or of pocket, during my 4 months there they did not care that my main goal was driving again. I never saw the inside of the technology lab. I spent 30 hours a week there and barely made progress, much of that time was for nonsense like independent exercise, not actually working with therapists and certainly not using any of the other tools at their disposal. The patient experience varies wildly depending on their starting abilities. No one told me coming in i was going to have all these restrictions placed on me. I found out i want allowed to use the bathroom alone when i tried to go and duotone would pop up. And i wasn't even allowed to leave the building at the end of the day alone, they pulled my wheelchair back inside. I have very little to show for my time there and i really hate to say that because there are people there who care a lot about their patients but it doesn't make a difference in terms of results.

Gentlemen sitting on the far right of the check-in area was extremely rude and unhelpful. I found out at check in my insurance wasn’t covered, and he was talking down to me and degrading. Not ounce of customer service in his bones. He should find a new job that doesn’t involve customers. I also saw him talk rudely to his coworkers too.

Have been using them for vestibular therapy for a few months. Outstanding diagnostic equipment and data analysis. Staff are professional and they run on time. Mapping my process. I like me data.

No words can express the gratitude I have for this center and the amazing staff that makes this place so special. Every therapist was best in class in their practice. A very humbling experience, and I would not be this far along in my recovery if it wasn't for Scripps.

I have had therapy for a wide range of four different types of ailments including vestibular therapy at this location. I have yet to meet a therapist who wasn't top notch and who hasn't left me feeling hopeful, able and more confident in myself. To me, physical therapists in general walk such a thin line between medical treatment, personal trainer, and psych counselor and out of the 5 or 6 different therapists I've met from this location, each of them has played all of these parts SO well! They are supportive, comforting and skilled at their jobs. They are also good at thinking outside of the box when something isn't working for me. They have been understanding yet have kept up my momentum with their positive attitudes, making it clear that setbacks are part of the process and we will just keep working and trying new things until we figure out what works. I'm grateful to all of the therapists I've seen there and all of the recovery and rehabilitation they have helped me to achieve, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well! A big shout out to them Arti, Helen, Maxine, Kelly and Cole! Thank you guys so much! You've all made a big impact on my life for good! 😁❤️👍

Wonderful experience for my mother’s physical therapy. She’s been going faithfully for the last couple of years and it’s been tremendous to help keep her moving with less pain!

Best brain injury rehabilitation in San Diego County. I traveled up from La Mesa for Speech, Physical and occupational therapies. Each therapist understood brain injury in ways no one else in San Diego has. Balance, Spasticity, swallowing, speech, motor coordination, communication disorders... Scripps Encinitas is the neuro expert! The only frustration is neurorehabilitation is lengthy and requires multiple insurance updates. Scheduling is really a problem. Making all my appointments up front helped to plan transportation and ensure continuity of care by staying with the same therapist. Sadly, scheduling is a major issue. They can only schedule two months at a time. Even if more than 8 weekly appointments were initially approved by insurance, and more approved along the way. Administrative support doesn't communicate with therapists over the course of treatment. Twice this year I've run to the end of the initial scheduled appointments, had my therapist say they'd see me the following week, only to show up and discover the office hadn't scheduled any more visits. Traumatic Brain Injury is rough. Tracking insurance approvals and appointments with a healing brain is super tough. I wish that everyone attending neuro-rehab could be tracked by the brain injury administrative scheduling. It would prevent large gaps between appointments disrupting continuity of care. I had to wait weeks to return in March and then again in June. Scheduling is all so overwhelming. That said, the front desk people are super kind and patient with my speech problems. This place is super busy. It's weird they keep adding chairs to the waiting area, basically eliminating wheelchair waiting spaces. I feel like I'm in the way with so many other people using walkers. I used to always wait in front of the restrooms, so I'd be out of the way. Now that area is also filled with chairs, so now I get to wait where the therapists gather in front of the announcements. In either location, there was no place for my caregiver to sit.

I was very disappointed in the Brain Injury Program. I was really hoping to get Comprehensive skills out of the classes & I feel #1 the judged me from the moment I walked in for my initial interview. #2 when they found out I had a SSI case that was ongoing they pushed me out of the Program. I was in desperate need for help for life skills after the things I have been through and I need help learning to speak to certain people because of my Injury and it just didn't happen here. I don't know how they call it a Brain Injury Program...its not. And Mariann was late to every appointment by at least 15 minutes. I think they are over booked and just push out people. Which is unfair.
