These women are phenomenal healers! I have been going to SJVR for the past several months for a shoulder/back injury and not only am I 90% healed, I looked forward to my therapy time every single week with these amazing individuals. Dana, front desk, is very kind, professional, accommodating, communicative & understanding when I had to schedule & move appointments around. Carolyn is a jewel; knowledgeable, kind, healing, and will give you the right exercises and game plan for your "home work". Pauline is such a gem as well. Very caring, makes sure that you're progressing, very down to earth and fun to talk to and I will truly miss working with her. I attribute most of my progress to her! And there's Karen, who I didn't get to know well enough but definitely a wonderful healer that "made the cut" as being another amazing addition to their team. They truly have the best staff ever, and even rotate music genres so you have some decent music playing while you're being treated. I am glad I am almost all the way healed now, as I thought my injury was permanent so the progress was truly a surprise. I will miss these ladies and the healing therapy they were able to provide me for so long. (Note: I did not know any of these individuals before I started physical therapy.)

This single star is for the receptionist, Dana, who could not care less. Laurie, the PT, however is very good. Regretfully I cannot post separate reviews.

I've suffered from chronic pain for the majority of my life. I started with chiropractic treatment at the age of 14 and have tried nearly every modality of treatment out there; including Acupuncture, Rolphing, Napropathic Deep Tissue Massage, Chiropractic Tx. steroid injections, medications etc. as well as traditional Physical Therapy Treatment to cope with my debilitating pain. I began seeing Carolyn Summers @ S.J.V. Physical Rehab in Oakhurst, Ca. over three years ago with very little expectation. However, Carolyn introduced me to a relatively new, and little known form of therapy known as Fascial Counterstrain via the Jones Institute. Initially, I was a bit skeptical, but, when you're in constant pain, you'll try just about anything for relief. After a few sessions with Mrs. Summers, I couldn't deny the fact that this method of P.T. was not only relieving my pain, it was/is actually working to correct the imbalances in my body that were/are the cause of my pain and other symptoms; it's truly AMAZING!!! Carolyn's knowledge and use of the Fascial Counterstrain Method, is not only the most important treatment in the arsenal of modalities I use to combat my pain, but she, herself, helped educate me as to what my diagnosis actually is (NOT Fibromyalgia, as I've maintained since receiving that inaccurate Dx.). Even giving me a book about the Dx; which upon reading in little more than 2 hours, as page after page began to lay out exactly what I and my youngest son, have been experiencing to a tee and for the first time I felt 99.9% sure that I'd finally discovered our true diagnosis of Joint Hypermobility Syndrome (J.H.S.). Just knowing what I was actually dealing with has helped me tremendously and I can't thank Carolyn enough for her assistance. In this day and age where pain has literally and figuratively become a four letter word, I'm stunned that there aren't many practitioners of Fascial Counterstrain out there and when I bring it up to most doctors, they don't even know what I'm talking about. Still, I can NOT rave enough about this miracle modality of P.T. and highly recommend it to any one who suffers from any type of pain syndrome. I hope that one day, Fascial Counterstrain, will be as commonly known as Chiropractic because it's not only a temporary relief, but a long lasting, corrective method, that has definitely made my life better. In fact, I strongly believe that every Physical Therapist become familiar with this method and suggest anyone who is suffering try it. I'm a skeptic, but trust me when I say, FASCIAL COUNTERSTRAIN works and everyone should know about it!!! Thank you, Carolyn, as well, as the rest of the staff at the Oakhurst office of San Joaquin Valley Rehab. Jessica, the receptionist, is always there to help with a smile on her face and Kit, Laurie and the other staff members are absolutely delightful. Again, I can't thank you all enough for making my life a lot easier to bare!!! Sincerely, Jackie Cross 07-06-18
