What they put my husband and I through after his stroke is disgusting They had him in a filthy room when he was there I took him out of there as fast as I could They ought to be closed down for good They ignored him and I and left him dirty the time he was there

I went to visit My friends mother with my friend. The nurse in charge was very informative and polite. The Administrator introduced herself she was walking in to the rooms and greeting the patients and visitors. I’ve been to other nursing homes and it is rare to see Administration out on the floor. My friend had questions and the Administrator was able to answer her questions immediately and provided guidance of who she can speak to in the facility if she happens to be in meetings.

The head nurse is completely incompetent, unsympathetic and completely lost when it comes to understanding patient care. I am surprised she was able to obtain her position. My grandmother is staying at this facility and is currently on hospice. As she is very ill, she has become very confused and is having great difficulty interpreting her needs and desires. She is often somnolent and unable to voice her need for pain medicine unless it comes to an extreme I have found out she often times has gone over 8 hours without pain medications due to the fact that she is having trouble communicating her needs or is somnolent. She often times has to voice her opinion when in extreme pain, often crying in these conditions. The head nurse is completely misunderstanding and can't seem to grasp this concept and is clearly uneducated on patient care that someone in her position clearly should have. A patient in this condition should not have to constantly voice her desires as it is not possible but should be kept comfortable. The head nurse should be able to grasp this easy concept as well as the doctor that was spoken to. It is clear some members leading this facility lack basic patient awareness, empathy or any real compassion or understanding of the environment they are in and the patients they are caring for. I hope that they can be properly educated or that the administrator better analyzes the staff she gives these positions to.

Not being a resident of California, I was very unfamiliar with the city of Chico, with the exception of the beautiful Bidwell municipal Park that I had visited many years ago. When visiting this facility, I was impressed by the lush surrounding area and the kindness of the staff. I saw many of the residents involved in a plethora of activities. There was a lovely social director who was compassionate and involved with the residents. The dining room was pleasant and the atmosphere was great. Most importantly the Nursing staff was attentive and helpful. Highly recommended.

Giving this facility a one star for multiple reasons all though some of the nurses are very nice the place smells like feces and needs to be better tooken care of as well as the folks sitting in the hallway looking miserable. I feel the people in these homes should be better tooken care of and made as comfortable as possible as some are very ill and in extreme pain.Another reason for giving this place a one star is because of the head nurse Julie! She is out of line with some of the comments she has made. Very inconsiderate and very rude person who needs to find another profession because this job is not something she takes to heart, when you go to a head nurse for help she should be nothing but helpful and she should show that she actually cares what’s going instead of making disgusting comments to the persons family!!! I hope this review helps anyone thinking of bringing loved ones here! Some new staff with knowledge & loving hearts is much needed here!

Medication mix up compounded by rude, unpleasant, unhelpful nurse who wouldn't listen to a problem I had already worked out with local management and the physician for the facility. I told them repeatedly that my wife's psych meds were not to be messed with, at all. One bad apple is making the whole barrel smell bad. Update...The following Monday, I spoke with the Director of Nursing, Bill. He listened, patiently, and satisfied all of my and my wife's concerns. He seems very committed to making Riverside a better place for patients as well as employees. The unpleasant nurse will not be seeing my wife anymore.

I have been here for 12 weeks now. It's a very very stressful job for all the staff from the janitor to the administrator you really have to care about people to work in a place like this. Day after day giving your all . How much is your love worth. Cause they give it away to care for the residents.

My mother-in law loves to call this place home. She has many friends and enjoys all the activities.
