I’ve done PT before, but Richardson Spine & Sports was by far the most professional and thorough of all. Joe Goodwin took time to explain the exercises and how they would heal my injuries. He never rushed through the sessions. If I need PT again, this is where I will go and will recommend them to everyone I know.

Richardson S & S Clinic is one of the best physical therapy clinics I have been to in the Richardson/Plano area in many years. The two therapists that have treated me there were very knowledgeable and great individuals as well as all of the other employees and staff members. I will definitely come back to this clinic for future treatment in the future.

I have been going to Richardson Spine & Sports for a month now for my knee. The staff here are terrific. Everyone is friendly and they seem like they enjoy working there. Gina has been helping me with my PT and she is fantastic. Always asks questions to judge how I am progressing and she's very fun to work with. I highly recommend utilizing them if you are seeking physical therapy.

I have been suffering with back pain for over 14 years; having degenerative disc disease, with almost every disc being herniated or bulging, along with osteoarthritis in the facet joints down my back, which left me with scoliosis & kyphosis(that’s where you end up with a bulging back-not a pretty sight). I was having to go for steroid injections, & Rhizotomies on a regular basis. I had gone to at least 4 other places for physical therapy with NO HELP WHATSOEVER! That is until my Dr referred me to Joe! They actually know what they are doing there! All the other physical therapy places provided what I would call “canned therapy”. They had me do the usual exercises & attempted to address the issues with my back, however after several months with no improvement I would stop, because I wasn’t getting anything from what they offered. However, Joe & all the other therapists at Richardson Spine & Sports Therapy, they really understand the human body & explained to me how our body will use other muscles to do the job of the ones that have been compromised by whatever is going on with your particular body, & explained to me that I needed to strengthen the correct ones that support my back to put it back into its proper alignment, as much as was possible considering the extent of the damage already done. As I began to regain strength, I noticed my pain was also becoming less intense. It is not a quick fix, & it takes commitment & perseverance to continue with it. The first time I went for treatment I learned alot of the basic skills & exercises I needed to maintain what I began strengthening. And then 2 years later I needed to come back for a refresher course, because we are all only human & I got away from the diligence I had from my first encounter. And, believe me, there is NOTHING WRONG with admitting you need help. So I began my 2nd time, & I’m glad I did, I discovered I wasn’t doing all my exercises correctly, so glad I went back. During this time of therapy Joe happened to experience his own injuries as a result of a bike accident, in his absence a colleague continued my therapy. It was 6-8 weeks later when Joe was able to resume my care, he looked at me with shock & amazement, I asked him what was it? He said I can’t believe it, you are standing up straight!! Previously, due to the kyphosis I was bent forward, & now he said he could barely see my kyphosis! The strengthening of the back muscles really began to do their job! Before when I started the exercises I was telling him I don’t feel muscles in my back, I guess because they were so atrophied I could not feel them when I first started the exercises, but now I could & they had regained their strength! He said he wished he would have taken pictures when I first began so I could see the before & after pictures of what progress I had made!! I am so thankful to GOD for leading me to the BEST PHYSICAL THERAPIST who has helped me to accomplish something I had given up hope for. I didn’t think I could ever look or feel better without surgery. I am sure I will have more refresher courses with Joe, as my condition is degenerative, even so, I could not recommend anyone better that the therapist’s at Richardson Spine & Sports Therapy!!! Thank You Joe!🥰

First time going to Richardson Spine & Sports and cannot recommend this place enough! Dr. Catherine was attentive and caring throughout the whole process of working on my ankle flexibility. Her passion for PT and helping others shows through her patience and attention to detail during my care. Kamora was also amazing and helped to teach me my exercises/movements while making it fun (because let's be honest, PT is not typically fun). I left feeling prepared and more knowledgeable on what exercises to do at home to continue my progress outside of the office. All of the staff I came into contact with were friendly and compassionate. Thank you to my PT Catherine, PTA Kamora, and office staff Sherri & Vonda (sorry if I misspelled anyone's names - not my forte!). Also shout-out to my fellow Gigi aka Gina!

My own experience with Richardson Spine & Sports, and from what I have observed of other clients while I was there, reminds me of what I miss so much about working as a bedside nurse. Everyone, from the front office staff to the therapists, is super friendly and treats you like family. If I didn’t say it enough, thank you all. My body is in a better place since randomly landing in your clinic.

I have had a condition called myofascial pain syndrome for about 4 years. When I started working with Joe he was very honest with me that it was a chronic condition, but that we could improve it. Indeed, after about 7 months I am at least 50% better. Joe and Kerri are two extremely well trained physical therapist, with tremendous attention to detail, and who listen to the patient. I had worked with many other very caring PTs before, but I saw hardly any improvement with them. I think part of the key is the "manual therapy" approach. Most other PTs only give you exercises to do, which probably works fine for standard injuries; but for chronic conditions, like mine, I think their approach gives significantly better results. Sheri in the front desk is also great! Highly recommend this place!

Gina is absolutely wonderful. She's slow and patient with me (which I need). She never over works me and she's just delightful.
