My wife was admitted to RHNA on September 9th after a stroke. We were on a 14 day driving vacation beginning in Tucson and ending in our home town of Lexington, Ky. On September 7th we were preparing to board the train to the Grand Canyon when the stroke developed. After an amazing EMT group in Williams got her to Flagstaff Medical Center in record time to get her TPA injection she began to show progress almost immediately which brings me back to RHNA. Our stay at RHNA brought my wife back from what could have been a terribly debilitating illness to her walking out of the front door 10 days later under her own power. The staff, all of them, doctors, nurses, all the therapists, tech's, housekeeping, dining personnel and any others I may have excluded, made our stay so comforting that it allowed my wife to progress as rapidly as she did. The professionalism of everyone was what you always hope to experience. We saw it everywhere and from everyone in the facility. Everyone we touched and that touched us gave us the confidence that we were definitely in the right place to get her well. I'm not sure, if any part of our vacation had changed, that my wife would have survived. With the hospital giving her the opportunity to live, NHRA gave mobility back to her and allowed me to bring my wife home to our family and friends. There aren't enough words to ever properly thank everyone at NHRA for giving my family their mother, grandmother and my wife back. From both of us, Charlotte and Dennis Hetzel, THANK YOU! You all are great and we realized when we got home we couldn't have been in a better place for something bad to happen. No one wants to be in a situation to need a Rehabilitation Hospital but let me be very clear. Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Arizona is the best of the best.
Hey There
Extraordinarily behind the times, incompetent. Stroke patient wasn't helped to learn how to swallow because she was falling asleep but they didn't put effort to wake her up to push some therapy she quit being able to drink and eat alone and ended up dehydrated and without food for 3 days. They ignorantly skipped an IV fluid bag this entire time. When addressed they slowly apologized as if we were ridiculous. She ended up in the hospital. Don't trust them with severe disabilities for rehab they are incompetent therapists, doctors are few, nurses are nervous.

I am grateful for this facility for taking care of my younger brother. My brother was a patient here and they took excellent care of him and educated him to heal, recover, and empowered him. I knew he was going to be okay when I saw the work they were doing. I am extremely grateful 🙏

I had knee replacement surgery and, since I live alone, came to the Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Arizona, located in Flagstaff Arizona. If you are familiar with the medical situation in the Verde Valley (Sedona, Cottonwood, etc) RHNA is NOT affiliated with Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH). There are no decent rehab facilities near my home, so I came to Flagstaff about 60 miles away. I was so relieved to discover RHNA after visiting a friend here. The facility is clean and cheerful. The staff is professional, caring, friendly and kind. The PT and OT staff are superb. RHNA has 40 rooms, all singles. What really impressed me was that family members could stay on a cot in the room and eat in the cafeteria FOR FREE. RHNA is on the edge of the enormous Navajo reservation. Most of the patients are Native Americans who may live hundreds of miles away. Many are Elders who don't speak English. I'm sure that having family members with them is a great support to the patients. On weekends, lots of grandchildren visit. It's very heart warming to see how RHNA contributes to the community.

My husband suffered a stroke on Feb 1 2023. After a few days in the hospital he was transferred here. During a very stressful time we both felt the absolute care and concern for him. The staff is incredibly caring. We are so grateful for the nurses, aides, therapy staff that helped him and I feel that had SO much of the reason he continued to push hard to get his body to respond and learn about dealing with his paralysis. You ALL were a blessing during a difficult time in our lives. And Lynn at the front desk was so friendly and welcoming with my daily visits. Overall wonderful experience. Thank you!!

I have fallen three times in the last 15 months and broken bones each time. I am so thankful that it was suggested that I come to the Rehabilitation Hospital Northern Arizona. Not only do I get 3 1/2 hours of Rehab each day, but they truly live up to their motto of compassionate patient care. Every PT, OT, nurse, tech, and doctor here have been skilled and caring. After two weeks here I’ve gotten stronger, and I have learned so much about how to avoid falls in the future. Priceless information for this 83-year-old woman who wants to resume my active life.

I can't say enough good things about this rehab hospital. Not only was the facility and care excellent, the atmosphere created by staff, from the top down, is relaxed, attentive, warm and open ... quite unusual for any organization. I loved the people, while getting top notch care. I want to mention those outstanding professionals whom I was so fortunate to work most with: Dr. Balouch checked in with me most days (and always if I had a need) and made many important adjustments to my meds and wound care; PT & OT Dave & Rachel, wonderful & skilled & fun to work with, nurses Stacy, Sara, Sarah, Arianna & Jerrika, so caring and attentive; dietician Tanya whose suggestions I have taken home to implement long-term; PCT's Windy and Aubrey, loved your enthusiasm; case manager Sarah who worked her magic to make things come together; the cooks who ordered and prepared special foods so I would get what I needed despite my restrictions; and CEO Jon who is never too busy to give a smile and an ear or a hand. Everyone else, too. I didn't meet one I didn't enjoy. Thank you for a wonderful experience for my healing and my spirit!

My stay after having spinal disc surgery was a positive one. The staff there- to a person- was attentive, knowledgeable, empathetic and wanted nothing more than to help with the healing process. The rehab staff knows what they are doing and the support staff are always available for whatever you need. When I felt down and that I wasn't progressing, they assured me and comforted me and did whatever they could to make me feel better. I would highly recommend this facility for anyone needing rehab services after surgery or injury. Thank you to all and for all you did for me to accelerate my healing process.
