We have had a great experience at Regency Rehab. The facility is less than a year old, so it's bran new, and very clean. My mother was there for about 25 days total. The nursing staff was very helpful and took very good care of my mother. One nurse in particular, Louise, stayed 2 hours after her shift when my mother's electrolytes dropped and they had to send lab work to Huntsville Hospital. She wanted to make sure that my mom was okay, and even called my cell phone the next day to check on her while we were at the hospital. The therapists were also great and helped to get my mom back on her feet and strong again after her surgery. We will miss several of the nurses and CNAs who treated my mom like family. I highly endorse Regency for rehab and health care.

I would not send a dog to this place. I have a family friend there for rehab and have had to check on her constantly, because her husband is out of town. From the first time she arrive for rehab from a knee replacement it has been terrible. They don't follow doctors orders for the knee machine to be on her knee. The only time it was put on her knee is when I was there helping put it on. She waited and more than an hour to have someone assist her to the bathroom then was told to pee in the bed. The room was not cleaned, food was served cold, no one was at the nurse station at night. I had to clean the room for her and the sheets were not changed in 4 days, she had to asked a nurse to change them. I had to take her clothes and wash them, because she missed laundry day. They are extremely disorganized. They did not check to see if her ice was put on regularly. The nurse was called 4 times the first day to get her pain medication then brought in every pill but the pain med. They have no cleaning people working there and one nurse to serve 25 patients. I have called every agency to report this place. I feel for the long term patients who have no family to look over them. I could go on put it would take pages to state all the issues this place has for patients care.

As patient at this time found staff are overloaded worked. To many patients and not enough staff. Food leaves a whole lot to be desired.

Went to visit my mother. I was rudely told I had to leave. When I asked why, I was told it's because there are other patients there? Yeah, there are hundreds of other patients there. Rather than make a scene, I asked for one minute with my 85 year old mother then I quietly left. I guess I'm not supposed to visit my mother as she rehabilitates. It makes me wonder why they really want me to leave and what they are doing when I am NOT there. I'll also take a moment to point out that there is an occupational therapist there by the name of Claudia who appears to be completely useless. All I have ever seen her do is watch my mother eat. She brings her lunch in, watches her eat, then leaves when she's finished. I guess it's a nice gig if you can get it. If I had known this was such a lousy facility before I put my mother in there, I would have made another choice. Lots of rude, useless people in this s***hole.

I'm not sure what to make of many of the other comments, as our experience was very different from theirs. All I can say is what we experienced. This is the third time that my mother has been to Regency Health and Rehabilitation Center for physical and occupational therapy rehabilitation after being in the hospital. We are very happy with the facility and staff The staff have always been cheerful, professional and conscientious. This includes the CNA, Nurse, Dr and PT / OT therapists. My mother's physical rehabilitation progress has been good each time. She was awakened and dressed each day, bathed and kept clean. I do not know the actual staff to patient ratio, but based on what I have seen, I think the care giver to patient ratio is on the order of 1 to 8-10. This doesn't include the behind the scenes folks, like the cooking staff. The staff does not hand feed residents, but this was not a problem as my mom could feed herself, and they did at least encourage her to eat. The food was placed within her reach and was prentable and edible. She was taken to the dining facility for most meals. The staff brought snacks at least twice a day between meals. The staff answered our questions and worked with us when mom had an outside appointment to see that she was safely delivered and picked up on time (we met her at the appoinment). The facilities are clean, attractive and in good condition. We would use the faility again.

Do not work for Regency. John the administrator is a fraud & dishonest. I work with shiftkey to pick up a extra shifts when needed. I picked up With Regency nursing home and unfortunately I couldn’t make the shift. So at 2:51 PM I called Regency the facility and I got someone on the phone who transferred me to Destiny voicemail. I left a voicemail that lasted two minutes. The shift started at 7 PM so I did call in enough time. I got a text from John Around 9:38 PM the same day asking was I coming. I text back “no but I left a vm earlier & sorry for any inconvenience. “ Two days later I look on ShiftKey and It had a no call no show status which was wrong. I text Destiny and John back To let them know that that was not true that it should be the status of canceled not no call no show. Destiny agreed and said she had nothing to do with it she’s on a break. I text John he Doesn’t contact me back. Call the next day to talk with John explaining the mixup he said “you didn’t leave a voicemail “so I sent screenshot of the call at Regency That lasted two minutes so that was my proof that I did call the day I was supposed to work and the time that I called. John hung up in my face I called three times he kept hanging up in my face. His actions were very unprofessional and disrespectful and as administrator of a company that specializes in caring for people, It seems out of place to have such a disrespectful unprofessional attitude. If he acts this way then no telling how he conducts his job. I had to call ShiftKey showed my proof, To get it removed

This place needs to be shut down and sued for malpractice. My 80 year old mother ended up here after falling at home, breaking her hip, and having surgery done in the hospital. She stayed two weeks. She was not given exercises, nothing was done to rehab her. They left her unattended and as a result, she fell in her room and nobody realized it and took action. Finally, she was completely neglected, her vital signs deteriorated, and she had to be readmitted to the ER and ICU of the hospital. Upon admittance, no information was given to the ER of her condition, and because my mother was incoherent, nobody in the ER knew what was wrong with her.

Nice looking facility, but awful service. If you ever have to have someone there, hire a sitter or be able to be there around the clock. Takes about forty minutes for some to come when the help light is pushed, and the every two hours policy for staff to come in and check on the patient is joke, medicine not given on time, food trays are just put on the table, if the patient is sleep they don't have common courtesy to wake them and let them know the food is there and it is already barely warm when it arrives, and you can forget them assisting the patient with opening anything or even cutting up food for them. My mom was worse than better after her time there. So sad.
