Just love Refuge! Dr. Josh has gotten me back from some pretty severe pain to doing all my normal workouts and everyday activity without pain. He’s created a great plan that I can easily do at home to help me get back to normal life. The entire practice is so welcoming and it’s a great experience as soon as you walk in the door. I totally recommend you checking them out!

I have gained stability on my feet and more balance since working with Josh Emerson at Refuge Physiotherapy. The best part for me is understanding what's happening in my foot that isn't working after two surgeries and what I need to do to improve function. This is not something I've gotten from the surgeon and it was very frustrating. I'm more confident that my foot will function better after just three sessions with Josh.

Refuge Physiotherapy is hands down the best clinic I have ever worked with. Their approach is to treat the whole person and address all the components of pain rather than one joint/issue at a time. They are incredibly kind and compassionate providers who really care about their patients and are invested in their recovery. I have learned so much about my body and feel stronger and more confident in myself than I have in years. I wish I could give them 10 stars!

Dr. Josh at Refuge Physiotherapy does amazing work he has been able to fix my aching calves and help out with my lower back pain. Also, he has fixed up two members of my family with vertigo and concussion symptoms. I would highly recommend Refuge to anyone.

I love this place and the doctors. I've used Chiropractic care for 40 years due to chronic back issues (usage pain, not injury). As I've gotten older and actually more active (six Spartan Races and two half marathon trail races so far this year), I've had to get more aggressive with my back care. Started seeing Dr. Josh several months ago based on a recommendation, and from day one I've felt extremely confident in his care. He listens to my concerns, studies my symptoms, then shows me what the issues are on his tablet's anatomy app, and finally shows me exercises I can do at home to correct the issue. He will provide manual manipulation of specific areas as appropriate, plus dry needling and cupping, and those always help me, but the real healing is in the PT he recommends. As long as I'm consistent with that, my back feels good enough to compete and that's extremely important to me. Trust me, at 57 years old I'm doing things I've never done and beating hundreds of competitors half my age at the Spartan Races. Would not be possible without Refuge Physiotherapy and Dr. Josh! I cannot recommend him enough, and have already referred several friends to this office.

I came to refuge for my back and discovered a few other issues all of which Maggie was so sweet and supportive and helpful with. In just two months I saw crazy improvement with the exercises I did and every time I had a session Maggie made it super fun and I love talking with her!

Refuge Physiotherapy has been amazing for me. I have seen both Josh and Maggie and I love working with them both. I went in for plantar fasciitis after 2 years of not being able to get it under control. Through exercises and then physical therapy things like cupping, rolling and dry needling I finally have relief. Also, I have learned how other things in my body being off has contributed to this issue. My foot is finally better and I know practical things that I Can do to strengthen my body correctly and not let my issue flare up again.

When I first came to refuge, I had chronic back/hip pain and had almost lost hope that I would ever feel better. I'd been through several rounds of physical therapy by that point and had been told by my last therapist that I just needed to have surgery and that they couldn't help me. Feeling defeated, I took a chance and called Dr. Maggie and it was the best thing I could have done for myself. Fast forward to today and I'm stronger than I've been in many years but most importantly, I have an abundance of hope that I will continue to get stronger every day and that feeling is truly priceless. I can't recommend this clinic enough and I'm so lucky to have found them.
