Red Bay Hospital

HORRIBLE!!!! had a loved one in for a week and was told we were liars by nurses..told uncomfortable racist jokes by the nurses and received the WORST CARE EVER !!!! PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS HOSPITAL AND STAY AWAY FOR YOUR LIVES!! the most UNPROFESSIONAL "hospital" staff and care we've ever had

I am a travel nurse and I had a car wreck on 1/14/24 due to the snow and ice storm and was transported to Red Bay Al hospital and I will say I received the absolute BEST CARE. The staff was amazing and so kind. I was strained for 4 days there because of the snow and closed iced roads. The Nurse Supervisor Mike provided me with a clean room and 3 meals a day. I didn’t have my phone charger for everything was in my wrecked car and the Nurse Lori provided me with her charger for 2 of those days. My personal experience with this hospital was great from the entrance into the ER and continued even upon leaving. I have found that often times people are looking for something larger and more modern but Red Bay Hospital offer’s kindness, compassion and care. This is my type of place!!! I highly recommend.

I was treated for a cat bite. The office staff, nurse and physician provided excellent care. I felt safe and comfortable. Insurance claim was filed for me. The facility was spotless. A soft, warm blanket was provided since I was a little shaky. The doctor was very kind, explained everything and answered all my questions. And, the nurse who treated me is former military, like me, which put me at ease. His care was fantastic!

I called, sent emails, left messages & asked for appropriate forms to fill out so I could appropriately request to have a copy of my medical records sent to me by electronic email or regular mail. I would be happy with either. I kept all emails for my protection. The employees didn't remember me calling, requesting to have my medical records, proper paperwork, my name, nothing. Then one lady, was actually trying-not mad at her because hey you know what I was hopeful for about 5 seconds...she said maybe I find something on you by your social...this place has no record of me ever being in this hospital??? So then I get an email from the woman in medical records informing me that they no longer have any of my medical records, they have been destroyed per Alabama law...really? Just wanted to know if I the patient was going to EVER be informed of the decision before it was done? Guess not...

If you need to go to an ER , go to NAMC, or HKH! This is Mayberry’s hospital! If you need stitches , it’s a great place! But, if you were like me, and needed a blood transfusion , you are wasting your time! Granted, if you are having a heart attack, or stroke, they can airlift you. But, they are definitely limited at what they can do! They don’t have ultrasound after 4, and on weekends. The doctors are great, and the nurses are always really nice.

They helped my son with a cut in his eyebrow. They were very fast with checking on him and kept me updated throughout the whole thing. They made sure he was fully ready to go home instead of just letting us go! Great staff today!

Went to get checked In with my year old grandson and the staff was nonchalant about everything. The wait was over an hour and still wasn't seen the employees told us to wait in the car bc the waiting room was full we walked by the waiting room and there was only one person In the entire room. They acted like they did not want to help my grandson so we left and went to a real hospital where the employees actually acted like they were concerned with my grandson that turned out to have pneumonia and was admitted. This is a God awful place to need treatment. If u need medical care I suggest u go to tupelo where they actually care.

Never tell your political beliefs to anyone, especially nurses!! I was told I better watch what I say because they all believe the same way at the hospital!! This happened to me in November, 2021!!
