Don’t let a loved go here. My sister was neglected from the moment she arrived. I tried calling the front desk all day on the Saturday after she arrived. No one answered the phone all day and in the evening. All I wanted was to hear how she was doing. She died the next day. St Joseph hospital sent her there to rehab and she never should have gone.

Therapy does not happen on a regular basis! In fact, my friend has had only 1 visit from any kind of therapist. Even as a fall risk, she is expected to walk the hall by herself!! She’s still not comfortable getting out of bed by herself. She still experiencing weakness in her legs and doesn’t trust herself to get to the toilet which is shared by her roommate and the people next door,. The only way to know if someone is using it is to check to see if the door is locked from their side. And, they sometimes forget to unlock the door so no one can get in without alerting someone to assist. The other "resident" is not necessarily capable of correcting the situation. Attempting to alert the staff is difficult at best. Because of the lack of response to the light/buzzer , I have encouraged my friend and her roommate to try and get a response by using both their little red buttons simultaneously. There is no intercom so they must wait until someone eventually arrives to ask for anything. Essentially the patient resident is on her own. This not the level of care or therapy expected or sought for $7000 (yes, seven thousand dollars) a month!!!! I do not recommend trying this establishment for even basic, remedial care!!!!! They do deliver the prescribed medications and 3 meals a day…..linen changes and 2 showers a week. All that for only $7000 a month. Besides harassing the "resident" for payment, they also expect to be paid $10,000 in advance ($10,000!!!!) There is no contract and no specific things (therapy) they have done nor any they’re expected to do. I have read the stack of paper copies they left in the top drawer where her chargers, connections and cords are attached for her tv, phone and computer….none of which she uses. Well, they told her the tv was broken and stuck the remote on top. She can’t reach the drawers. It took me a month to accidentally find them. Do NOT put anyone you care about in this facility!!!!!!! I can’t be more emphatic. I believe this may not only a safety issue but LIFE and DEATH decision!!!!! Please do NOT place anyone here!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I had known about Pueblo Springs the first time my mom needed rehabilitation. She went to Sabino Canyon rehab and left no better than when she went, and we ended up filing a grievance. Pueblo Springs on the other hand, was amazing and very different in the way they care for their patients. My mom was talked to and treated with respect and dignity. The staff seemed happy and smiled every day. They were also great at communicating with me while my mom was there. I never felt forgotten or in the way when I had questions. My mom may have had a better outcome had she gone to Pueblo Springs first, but nonetheless, it was a very positive experience, and I hope other families will consider choosing Pueblo Springs for their loved ones. Thank you, Pueblo Springs!

I came to Pueblo springs after being in the hospital for over 2 weeks I'm not gonna lie I hated this place when I first got here cause I was placed in a room with a woman that screamed non stop but Jessica who by the way is beyond awesome. She put me in a room with woman named Cindy whom I've grown to love and hate leaving and will be back to visit. My meds were all wonky but Derek in admissions quickly got that fixed Derek and Matt I. Admissions are both also pretty awesome now the the med nurses They had my unit were so great with the exception of Ruben He's beyond awesome and the aids in my unit also are t so great with the exception of Bonnie and Jessica Pueblo springs more Bi

I have been interacting with Pueblo Springs for over a year and have found that the therapy team do a fantastic job of delivering high level treatments and truly care about improving patient function and independent prior to discharge. The case management team are knowledgeable and always happy to help with any questions or concerns I have. I would recommend this facility.

My advice to anyone considering this place is if your family member is in critical condition and has any sort of organ failure, this is not the right place for them. This place is good for people that just take one or two meds that aren’t of too much importance. My dad stayed here and on his fifth morning, his morning nurse had to call 911. They thought he had gone into cardiac arrest but that wasn’t the case. He has liver failure and his ammonia level was so high that he just wasn’t responding anymore. Honestly, I’m not even sure that anyone checked on him throughout the night based on what my mom and sister saw when they went to gather his belongings.

My mother was checked into the Pueblo Springs Rehab facility by her hospice care program for respite care on Monday January 15th because my sister became very ill and could not care for mom, she needed help. Wednesday, January 17th, mom sent my sister and I a text message saying she only has 4 pain pills. We sent her a message back saying she was sent with 36 pills, and she responded saying the nurses lost them. The next day, after a lot of stress on how to get mom more pills quickly, mom calls us to say the nurses found them, they were in the wrong drawer. On Friday, January 19th, my sister and I get a call from moms hospice nurse, Lindsey, to say that mom is in respiratory distress because mom had her oxygen on but the machine was not working. Lindsey had no idea how long it was not working and put mom on 10liters of oxygen and after awhile got her number close to 90%. Lindsey also said she talked with the staff and gave them training on how to work the machines and what to watch for with mom. She also prescribed mom four more prescriptions to help with mom’s developing cough and mucus. That evening, I tried calling mom on her cell phone 12 times with no answer. I also called the facility 17 times, two of which someone answered and transferred me. One time after transfer, a lady who spoke no English answered, set the phone down and walked away. That was a 20 minute call before I tried again. The second time I was transferred I was on hold with no answer. After these attempts, my sister call the hospice program around 8pm to ask for a wellness check to see if mom is ok. Around 10pm, the hospice nurse reported mom was resting and her new medications just arrived. On Saturday, January 20th at 6:14am I received a missed call from the hospice program asking me to call back with an emergency about mom, mom has passed away earlier. Around 9am, my sister went to the facility to retrieve mom’s belongings but not everything was there. On Tuesday, January 27th, my sister and I went to the facility to try to find out what happened to mom and to get the rest of her belongings. We waited an hour in the waiting room for her belongings and then left our contact number for someone to call us to pick up. Today, February 2nd, I left another message and we still do not have all of mom’s belongings. My sister and I have been very ill these past few weeks and we are grateful for the idea of respite care but a lot more CARE and TRAINING needs to happen before this facility can be recommended. So many things went wrong there and we are now grieving the loss of our mother and feeling upset and let down by the lack of care mom received by a “skilled” facility.

Do not send your loved ones here. I had my grandma stay in this facility for 2 weeks and I made the mistake of not visiting her for a few days and was met with her looking worst she ever had. Her clothes had not been changed, only her diaper, her hair was matted almost to her scalp, and she appeared to be in the EXACT same position I had left her in on my previous visit. I'm completely sure they did nothing but bring her a tray of inedible food every few hours. If your loved ones require round the clock care DO NOT SEND THEM HERE unless you can be there with them pretty much all day every day because the staff will do as little as required. The state of the building is a complete nightmare in itself. The entire building is coated in an awful scent and when walking through the corridors to get to my grandma's room i was often greeted by many wide open doors, displaying patients groaning or shouting loudly, I once witnessed a paitent slapping himself harshly, seemingly receiving no attention whatsoever. We got her out of there as soon as we could. (In addition to all this during one of my grandma's final days there her roomate, a woman in her mid 80s with a missing leg asked me to hand her a cup of water on her tray, when I got closer to her she grabbed my shoulders and attempted to hoist herself off of her bed onto me, I panicked pressed the call button several times but by the time a nurse came in the woman already calmed down so nothing was done about it.)
