I just finished the Paris 2024 Marathon - I hadn't run a marathon in 10 years because of Achilles and Calf injuries. I tried many times having already completed 70 marathons and a 50 miler up to that point, but my last Chicago Marathon in 2014 was the end of me. I tried many times but fell back into injury. Then 6 months ago I started working with Dr. Lena Parker of PT@TheBeach. She diagnosed my Achilles insertional tendinopathy and gave me an exercise protocol to strengthen the Achilles tendon and calf comlex. She also got me running on the AlterG Antigravity Treadmill at PT@TheBeach. And 6 months later, I have run the Paris 2024 Marathon. I can't say enough about what this means to me, to have my love of running and the marathon back in my life. I am truly grateful to Dr. Lena Parker and her team.

I have been to several physical therapists over the years. In most PT settings, while one of the actual physical therapists does the intake on the initial visit and prescribes a regimen of exercises or stretches, on subsequent visits the patient is typically handed off to an assistant or intern to assist while the patient goes through all the exercises. This is NOT the case at PT@The Beach. In my experience, Dr. Lena Parker led me through every exercise at each visit throughout my five weeks of twice weekly sessions. Dr. Parker is personable and professional and certainly hands-on. She is also flexible in terms of treatment and relies on patient feedback to make any adjustments to any single exercise. I was impressed with Dr. Parker's knowledge, expertise, and caring and encouraging manner. I highly recommend PT@The Beach and Dr. Lena Parker in particular.

PT@The Beach is simply the best for your physical therapy needs. Unlike other places where they set you up with a chart and send you on your way to do your PT, here you will receive one-on-one sessions each time with a trained professional. I have used them three times and have been absolutely satisfied each time. My daughter has also used them for sports injuries. Yes, you might get a student on occasion who will only observe your session. But rest assured that you will be treated by a trained physical therapist and receive the one-on-one treatment you deserve and will not get at other facilities.

Over the past year I have worked with Dr. Lena Parker at PT@The Beach. She is an excellent Physical Therapist and works within the LifeFit Center at CSULB. The center offers both PT and exercise classes as well as personal training. Dr. Parker measures progress on an ongoing basis. The results were impressive, in one year I saw improvements in my strength, cholesterol levels, and bone scan. Thank you, Dr. Parker!

I had a great experience with PT@The Beach! I was rehabbing my knee and working to prevent future injury. The big standout for this clinic is how they work with you in such a personalized manner. They didn't just meet me where I was physically, but developed a program and approach that was designed for me to meet my specific goals. I felt pushed and challenged in a safe environment which is what I really needed to move forward. This is different from many other places that have standard programs based on your injury/surgery protocol etc.

Lena Parker is a consummate professional! Consider yourself in good (strong) hands should you find yourself as her patient. She is above all a skilled listener, and is willing to work with you collaboratively through various approaches to help you recover from whatever physically ails you - in my case a bad back. She provided me with on-line videos to work on from home, and would make certain in our meetings that I was doing the exercises she provided correctly. Roxanne Sexauer

My time at PT@theBeach was honestly so beneficial because I had been dealing with shoulder pain for the longest time, but after three sessions, I was able to resume my workouts. Not only did my pain lessen and is basically non-existent now, but the care plan I received helped me better my form to prevent future injuries. Lena was so attentive and really supportive during my consultation even when I wasn’t sure how to articulate my concerns. Definitely give this place a try! :)

Had an excellent experience with Dr. Lena Parker. Within a few months she helped me to greatly reduce my chronic pain that had been with me for years. She was very open and receptive to listening to my experience and working with me towards a solution.
