I went to these folks and saw Tabithia. She was fantastic, she helped me on many levels. I would recommend them to anyone. I got my sister to agree to go. I also told several friends about them. THANK You for getting my head in the right direction.

Dr. Bowen is not up to date on current information and research. Much like the review before mine, I had a horrible experience in this office. As an adult seeking an Autism evaluation, I was told that I "couldn't be autistic because I want to work with people in the future" (which is simply not true, there are many autistic clinicians in my profession). Of the most hurtful, Dr.Bowen read off a list of my current diagnosis and then commented "Do you really want to add Autism to this list?". I was so shocked. This was, to date, the worst experience I have ever had with a health care "professional". When I questioned Dr. Bowen on the differences between male and female autism signs and symptoms, he was dismissive. This interaction and discriminative mindset is extremely dangerous. I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.

I went in for an ADHD evaluation, after being diagnosed by my therapist. I was told the evaluation would be 60minutes. I was in and out in 15. All he suggested was to get a prescription for anxiety meds from my primary doctor. He was extremely condescending and dismissive.

I’ve been going back-and-forth for over a month about posting this. I finally decided to go ahead and do it. I was seen here for an adult autism evaluation. Please note, whether I am autistic or not is irrelevant for the purpose of this review. The first meeting went well enough. The second was terrible. Quite honestly it was one of the worst experiences of my adult life. I was told “you meet just over half of the criteria for an autism diagnosis but I’m not going to do that today because you don’t look like other autistic people I’ve seen.” I was not aware that all autistic people look like, because they do not. Also, someone who has been in the psychology field for as long as he claimed to should know that over the last few years research has shown us that autism presents very differently in women versus men, but it does not present the same in any two people. I was also told that I couldn’t be autistic because “I loved my kids”. I do not know how to begin explaining how offensive that statement is. Autistic people are very very capable of love, and there are tons of autistic parents out there who love their children very much. If you are looking for a psychologist, I cannot recommend enough staying away from this place. Especially if you suspect autism, because it’s very clear that they have some very ignorant views of autism. You have no business being a psychologist with these outdated, harmful, downright incorrect views towards autism.
