Proximal 50 Life Center

I joined Proximal late last summer, looking for a venue and expertise to help me get back in shape. With my extensive travel and busy schedule, I really needed a someone to help me to meet or exceed my goals. I decided to go with a personal trainer and have been working with Dusty. I couldn't be happier with Dusty, he is very knowledgeable and really zeros in on the best workout for you. The entire staff is friendly and helpful.

Signed up the first week this gym was open. The equipment is nice. Modern and clean facility. However, the staff is not knowledgeable about their systems. When first signing up, they were unable to locate the proper paperwork for me to sign. The employees said they would just "wing-it" and tried reciting from memory. (Just your typical gym liability information.) My concern comes from discovering I was still being billed after canceling my membership over 5 months ago. I called and visited multiple times in an effort to cancel my membership. Each time, I was told the employee did not know how to cancel, but assured me that they would speak with someone in the office and have the membership canceled. After multiple conversations, I was led to believe that the issue was taken care of. Looking through my card statement, I discovered that I was still being charged. I immediately contacted the gym. They did refund one months membership, however, I had paid for 5 months for a service I was led to believe was canceled. The gym refused to refund me for a mistake they had made. Careful doing business with this gym as the staff does not know how to operate their billing systems. Be more vigilant than I was in checking your card statements to ensure they are not charging you for services you have canceled.

This place has a great student rate for anyone in the area that is going to school. The facility is modern and clean, and the atmosphere is casual with low pressure to fit in or meet certain standards. A very "come as you are" kind of vibe. The group fitness instructors are excited to see you and the other participants are welcoming. Highly recommend!

I've belonged to a LOT of gyms in a number of cities throughout the years, which is why I’m so IMPRESSED with P50. The equipment is state of the art, and always kept clean. The P50 group classes are intense enough for every level of athlete, and I’ve never been intimated to attend. The upstairs “ladies only” gym is an added bonus! Every single P50 team member is so smiley. Honestly, it feels like a giant family because the front desk team learned my name, and the instructors chat with everyone before/after group classes! The attention to detail is incredible… for example, the ladies locker-room is stocked with fresh towels, hairdryers, lotion, Q-tips, etc. And last February, I received personalized birthday card in the mail with a gift-card to City Brew signed by P50’s owner. I split the cost of a "Household Membership” with my partner, and have Health Insurance that includes "HealthyBlue Rewards.” But to be honest, if neither of those perks existed I’d still be a member. The value of a wellness center like this in central Bismarck is incredible. 10/10 would highly recommend!

Have been going to Proximal for a couple of years now. Really like how nice everything is, and how it is usually very quiet and easy to get on the equipment that I want. The one thing with some of the treadmills at the Divide Ave location, is sometimes when I am running, the treadmill will randomly stop without warning and then cycle through a restart which takes > 5 minutes. This throws off my run and I prefer not to switch machines. Just something that has happened in the past a few times and has been annoying. Dont think its happened before on a downtown treadmill, but I frequent the Divide location much more often then downtown. Otherwise I love coming to "prox"!

Purchased a piece of equipment from Proximal, a treadmill, and I have zero regrets. I’ve been to many gyms in Bismarck Mandan, but this treadmill is so freaking cool and it’s so quiet and it works extremely well. If you’re looking to add equipment in your house, I highly recommend going through Proximal 50!!!

Went to my first class yesterday, so much fun and now today I am sore and enjoying the feeling of being back at it. what a beautiful facility you have. Looking forward to tomorrow and going through equipment with Austin.

Love this gym! I have been a member of many local gyms and this is by far my favorite. It is clean and up to date, all the staff is friendly and helpful.
