Positive Steps Therapy

This review is purely about the receptionist (Sally? sorry I didn't quite catch her name). I talked to her over the phone for a few times, and she was patient and knowledgable. She also made the extra effort to contact my insurance company to clarify the costs I would have to pay. Though we may not go to Positive Steps for the actual therapy because of the insurance tiers it is in, I still want to thank Sally(?) and she made me felt that this is a great practice :)

We had a significant issue with how this practice handled our insurance. For whatever reason when they ran our insurance and confirmed they accepted it they came back with a $10 co-pay with everything else covered. Our daughter went for two months, paying $10 each visit until one of the last visits when suddenly upon signing in there is a $700+ outstanding balance. We were assured it was a mistake, to continue the visit and they would take care of it. After several frustrating weeks, calls, visits and assurances from the office that the issue was on their end and they would take care of it they finally washed their hands of it and pointed at the insurance company and said to go deal with them we can't help you any more. On top of all that the last visit or two while they assured us we would not have to pay that full amount and to continue our appointments pushed the balance up near $900. If they cannot correctly verify your insurance or give you a correct price for your visits they just should not offer to verify it, and if they get it wrong they should not then assure us for weeks they will take care of it and fix it for us, then do absolutely nothing to fix it. We do understand mistakes happen, but this was egregious.
