I'm sorry I did not write a review before. My husband spent 4 1/2 years at Portland Care and I can cannot praise them enough. The nurses, cna's and staff all seemed to care about each and every patient. They helped each other as well. I spent a lot of time there with my husband and was very aware of all the extra attention and care they gave each patient. The only reason they would fire someone is if they didn't live up to the traditions and standards of Portland Care. The food was good and staff was very observant of all the patients's needs while they were eating. Brigette was an outstanding head nurse and always pitched up to help her staff. Joan Palatine

I worked here one year they just fired me because a patient did not like me and called me disgusting names, without even asking me about incident or doing a proper investigation, I bent over backwards every shift I worked with no appreciation from management but bad treatment, you can't sit or barely even break at times. They keep terrible staff that don't do their work ,leave their patients wet and use mechanical lifts alone risking injuries. Daily call outs from same people, new hires quit after one day there.i got threatened at work by another employee even had flat tires two days later and they did nothing. I'm respectful and almost 26 yrs experience and don't deserve the treatment they gave me. No one is safe to work there because if they don't like you they will rid of you. Good luck to my old fellow workers! And the patients that love me I'll miss you too!

This facility deserve 5 stars. I've been working as a CNA for 23 years this is by far one of the best nursing homes I ever work for. I never seen a facility so organized, structured and clean. Mind you, I've only been working there a month and it's the best decision I made. I truly recommend this facility. The staff cares about their residents and workers.

Our loved one who has late stage alzheimer's was in a facility that was terrible. We were able to transfer her to Portland Care. Immediately we saw an improvement. She was well-cared-for every time we visited. Clean, groomed, sitting in a chair and alert. Her nursing care was excellent and the aides were always cheerful and competent. We could not ask for better care. It is so wonderful to see our loved one smile again.

Portland Health And Rehabilitation was very rude and unprofessional. They hired me and one of the RN nurse was very rude to me. The next day they fired me, they said they fired me because I went into the break room too much, but every time I went into the break room was to wash my hands. I guess nobody else washes their hands there. They don’t want to hear what was really going on the down stairs people and how rude the nurse was to the workers. Would give a zero star if i could.

It's family owned (and that's not a good thing) The building needs updating in so many ways. Nursing is top notch and the nursing aids are some of the best. If you need a short stay place, stay here, if you need a long-term place, weigh your options.

I was hired for 11-7 after someone decide to not come back when she was first hired, & only orientated for two days. During my orientation two people in administration were cussing about the facility losing money & how he doesn’t give a f. I only worked two nights When Bridgette called me to tell me “You’re off the schedule, this is not working”.without giving reason or clarifications. I’m not sure what happened between the nights. I am not huge befriending but just being cordial with co-workers, I believe work is work nothing more. I’m happy I have a full time day job elsewhere , however I believe this place is unprofessional, racist,& doesn’t care for their employees.

I can not give enough praise for the Administrator, Nurses, LPNs, and staff that work in this caring, competent, and profession facility. My Mom who recently passed at 99, loved being there in her final days. THEY CARE! This is THE place for your loved ones!!
